Club Badge (merged)

I would rather keep the current badge. Why change it now? It looks great around the ground and is the badge we have had most recent success with.
Lets keep the round badge in the past and move forward.

Yeh it will take something really special to top this one for me. There seems to be a real ground swell of people that want this change, and it fits so much better with the other badges in the CFG. Don't worry mate, I'd be really surprised if we don't end up with something very similar to this.

This is actually the best I've seen if the dots are replaced with a bee or similar

Here's how you incorporate the sky blue/white, red rose, 3 rivers, a nod to St.Marks, some of the CoA colour scheme and the Manchester bee (colour scheme):

...And here's a modern, predominately sky blue/white alternative in keeping with the current badge's colour scheme of the rivers:

Sorry if my image editing skills (of GeekinGav's original design) make you feel inadequate about yourself ;)

I'd be happy with a professional's tidier version of the second one, I think it incorporates everything important about the club's history and Manchester without going over the top. I think a black ship is a class thing to include to represent the original version of the club and original kit - plus it doubles as a silhouette style. Looking at the top one - I'd thought about including more black to represent St.Marks but after seeing it, that would likely encourage Nike to give us sky blue/black strips rather than sky blue/white like we should be.

Absolutely stunning mate, if City put it to a vote that would get mine.

I saw Rafael Esquer's tweets, he was complimentary in other posts. I reckon he's not being too complimentary because he's thinking about the bumper pay day if he gets the gig!

I honestly can't see how your design can be improved upon. The bees was one of the options on the questionnaire, I'd love them to be included, but from a design point of view I can't see how they could be included without taking away from your design.

I'd love bees as well as they are a great Manchester symbol. I wouldn't have them on the badge but I think they would be great on the sleeves or at the back of the shirt just below the neck. Didn't we have gold or yellow bees on one of our black shirts a few years ago?

Keep the current badge, just remove the feathery thingy, and surround it with a gold colorured double circle with the name of the club inside it. The black stripe initials below the ship should be changed to 1894 or 93:20. No crosses, roses, bosses, bees.

Or stick to Geeking Gav's.

I know we all have varying ideas, but why 93.20.

Good effort but for me shows that the roses should not be on the next badge.

I don't like the top one but the second one has grown quickly on me. The roses stop the badge from being bland, it makes it pop and it just feels more like the old badge and therefore more City to me.

peter swales was part of our past ,lets have his mugshot in the middle of the badge

Agreed. Lancashire is meaningless to the under 40s. People want it just because it was on the old badge, rather than it making any sense.
Thats true of most of the symbols though, there are no sailing ships, cotton mills, they are all part of a past not really relevant to todays Manchester, so if the rose looks good put it on, I don't reallly mind whether it's bees, roses or dots if we are talking about what goes round the edge.

I dont know... if that's the reason people want to change it then it would only serve to show that the "no history" nonsense has gotten to people. Besides lets be honest the takeover has been the best thing that has happened to the club why is it a bad thing to be reminded of? It's far from it and should bring a big smile to ones face IMO. Even my old man was saying he likes the current one.

You can say plenty about the phoenix not meaning anything(it probably does have a meaning but I can honestly say I never give a thought about other clubs' badges meaning, couldn't care less) and choosing symbols like the ship and all that guff but at the end of the day it's not even all that interesting to begin with(just going to lead to people boring others, explaining the badge to them that they never asked about), the rest of the world doesnt give a damn about any of that so theres no point trying to get fancy and all deep and meaningful, might as well just choose something that simply looks good which the current one does to many.
Clueless

We still are lancashire.

Just because some nobhead politicians down south suddenly decide to carve out 'Greater Manchester' - whatever the hell that means since it includes towns completely different and distinct from the Manchester area and culture doesn't mean we suddenly stop being what we've been for hundreds of years.
