Club Brugge (A) - CL - Post-Match Thread

These nicked a point off PSG at home and beat Leipzig away yet we absolutely demolished them from the first whistle. An amazing performance. We battered them for a good hour and deserved the size of the win. Pleased for Palmer and Foden most of all.

Also another example of Grealish being quietly brilliant and allowing other players to come into the game more - he doesn't get big figures in this team but he's a brilliant foil for others. Considering he spent years being the big fish at Villa, he does the dirty work so willingly.
Absolutely correct

Blueprint from pep already established for Cole, I’m
Excited by the integration as the nurture of his talent can be gradual and we could have a class of 92 on our hands, as there are more to come.... I think, personally, this is what will help us to retain Pep further, imagine he has 3/4 of the lambasted academy competing for honours in 2/3 years time, dreamland for him, the owners and most importantly, us!
Totally agree, it was said the academy was a long term project and could take ten years before any lads start to come through. Looks like the conveyor belt of talent is coming through now

That's bollocks mate, it's been stated on here that they'd be relegated from the Prem. So, they're shitter than Newcastle.....and Watford. They just got lucky against PSG and Leipzig.

Mind you, this place is notorious for wind ups, so maybe those slating Brugge are just fishing?

well said. The prospect of building a third squad around Phil, Cole, Delap, Lavia, McAtee and callum Doyle alongside some worldies must fascinate him as a coach

They rode their luck at times but also battered and terrorised PSG for large parts of their game, watched a full match replay on BT, they are a very decent outfit but we made them look shite

Almost perfect away day. Good beer, great performance and result spoilt only by a fucking net to obscure the view and the train from Bruges back to Brussels being an hour late. Prefer that to the trains running on time and losing though.
