Pep showing his love for United early on already. Hardly surprising. He could not give a toss about the derby, in his elitist opinion is not right that club like City can beat club full of history in United.

Chasing the eternal dream with no striker seems absolutely pointless.

EDIT- there is also no way he would come up with those words if he was Barca manager with Real game coming up.

That seems to bear out your middle paragraph.

Where Sergio's replacement is, I have no clue. The recruitment team must unearth one - no good keep saying "we don't need a striker". Or at east someone who can propel the ball into the net.

I think what he meant was it's a much more important game at this moment in time, than the derby is
