Been around since the 50’s, I wish we had the likes of Mike Doyle in our team for derby games.

Thing is, we rarely play in games where we can use pace in the attacking third. Pace has a limited impact against nine defenders.

Happy enough with that eleven. Mahrez is like a different player in the CL, it'll be interesting to see who is playing the false 9 role and who is in the middle and who is down the left, but there's enough there to win. We could do with a win, in part because half the people seem to think our entire squad is wank and shouldn't be starting!

I tend to agree. Think he puts the team in more bad positions than advantageous ones, personally.

Replacing Walker will be a TALL task.

The club has bought up 3 or 4 of the best RB prospects in the world so I think we'll be OK when the time comes. Pedro Porro, €20m buyback announced yesterday (€40m for other clubs) might well be Spain's starting RB at the Qatar world cup. We've got the Brazilian kid, Couto, we've got Issa Kaboré playing at Troyes. CJ Egan Riley is a decent academy prospect, Sam Robinson captains the u18's. Jeremy Frimpong would probably jump at the chance to come back, he's apparently pulling up trees in Germany.

Or most likely - we'll just buy one. Livramento, Lamptey, Rencsh at Ajax looks good. There's a lot of options.

Ridiculous that Cancelo continues to start. His agent 100% had a word with the club in the summer. I said it previously but Dinho all but confirmed it in a Brazilian interview over the summer. Can't recall exactly what he said but it was a bit ominous in regards to Cancelo.

Keeping Dinho an extra year and not finding a replacement is starting to look a silly choice. He's clearly not trusted to fill in anymore, and as we saw last year with Rodri, he hit a physical wall 3/4 way through the season as his performances just fell off a cliff.

Wonder if Sterling is starting vs United, or if he's officially in the 'dog house' with Pep.

I believe his confidence started to go from a previous encounter between these 2 in a derby about 18 months ago.
Bissaka had him in his pocket and Raz looked terrified to try and go by him.
We need 11 fully confident players on saturday to go there and smash the f%ckers
