Obviously Pep is Ole in, what's the problem?
Why would it be more important? The United game might have a real impact on whether or not we win the league. It's not actually that different whether we get knocked out in the groups or in the semis, we aren't winning the CL either way.
No he won't priotitise it over the league, but he'll prioritise the next game and won't think about the weekend until Thursday. With Peps comments I think he is throwing every thing at the champions league this year. It's the only trophy he hasn't won with us. Sounds like he's prioritising it over the league this year.
Comments like this make me nervous that he could play a stronger team tomorrow night than on Saturday. Hopefully he's just saying it out of respect for Brugge.
Agreed. I thought it was a great press conference and Pep was buzzing. I think he was just trying to maintain focus on the Brugge match and take some pressure off for Saturday. It was a bit of kidology. He will go strong in both matches because we have an international break straight after. He will have to play a different system on Saturday, possibly to match up with United who will play a very negative five at the back formation. No doubt the press will spin it to make it sound like Pep was mocking United. I think Pep is right back on form compared to some of his press conferences last season when he seemed a bit off the rails. I think we will win both matches. He's been saying the next game is always the most important one for about 5 yrs now.. i wouldnt read into it much,
Last season he was accused of "bigging United up. " I am relaxed about Saturday's match when the pressure will all be on United. When he says stuff like this he makes a rod for his own back. It riles fans who are rightly sceptical as to whether he views derbies in the same way we do.
As a manager he doesn’t need to overtly show respect to Bruges, he just needs to not show disrespect.
