Ok, I know how BM works, and I know the ridicule I'm going to get for putting this.

But this is what I've been told this morning:

Pellegrini has an agreement with MCFC to become new manager and has done since last week.

There has been a late move, not by us, but by another manager who is interesting in joining us, and the board are interested in him.

Pellegrini is aware of this, and has no objections - he is also in contact with Barcelona.

I have no reason to lie, so just thought I'd put out there what i've told.

This seems entirely plausible. If I was an ambitious manager and the City job suddenly became available I would email my CV, so to speak.

So are you claiming Villanova believes he may be out of a job and has put his name forward. Doubt that somehow...

As Stuart Brennan stated in MEN any contact with Pellegrini did not essentially mean a deal was agreed.

what if this "other manager happens to be benitez"???????

There's another thread debating this - I wouldn't have a problem with Benitez . He's got a good (not great) record and he's proven himself

Isn't Benitez known to alienate those in the changing room and around him at the club? There were stories when he was at Liverpool that he never spoke to anyone and was generally very aloof. I can't see us going down that road again just at the moment.

Think the premier league is better for Benitez being in it, just not here.

Having said that whoever is appointed we have(even if Rafa) must get 100% backing from us all

Barcelona will review Villanova's circumstances in the summer due to his health issues, and its well known that they have an absolute interest in Pellegrini.

An agreement doesn't necessarily mean a deal is complete, although, I still feel personally it will be him.

If his adopted son (Balo) struggled to get on with him, you can imagine how hard it was for some people?

I think a lot of players will wake up with a spring in there step this morning, it'll be interesting to see what sort of display they put in tonight.

remember? :)
