As Stuart Brennan stated in MEN any contact with Pellegrini did not essentially mean a deal was agreed.

Just asked a journalist about this and confirmed that Barcelona definitely interested in Pellegrini. Certainly gave the impression its still more likely than Vilanova coming here though...

The bookies odds seem to be shifting. Pellergrini was at 12/1 on with most of them yesterday. Now some of them have him at 3/1 on. Mourinho has gone from 16/1 against to 3/1 against.

For Mourinho you can as big as 6/1 but he is 9/2 generally. 3/1 with Ladbrookes who are notoriously stingy with their odds anyway.

Pellegrini ranges 1/9 with William Hill, 1/6 Ladbrookes and as generous as 5/18 on Betfair.

Vinjay, please re-read my post. I made no comment about Vilanova coming to MCFC. The only comment I made regarding Barca was their link with Pellegrini (which I believe is pretty common knowledge anyway).

And Liverpool. Players did for Benitez in the end and once they didn't get CL qualification he was gone. Rafa has a similar character to Roberto and is even less of a cuddle bunny. And remember when he criticised the owners on transfer policy and got pulled on it? Next time at his presser he just kept repeating. 'I am the coach and am focused on being the coach and nothing more'. That was his answer to every question. His way of saying fuck you.

Personally I rate Rafa but if we want this holistic approach gubbins then Rafa ain't the guy.

I just hope that this holistic approach gubbins you mention means we end up with a puppet manager who is just a yes man to the people upstairs (who make sure the shit always rolls down hill). For me that would be a recipe for disaster - you need a manager with balls to stand up to the prima donnas in the team - that doesn't mean you can't put your arm round the ones that need it too.
