Couldn't agree more. Our 50 passes to goal takes forever and we dont have a David silva or prime de bryune to thread a ball through the eye of a needle. As for the defence its a shambles. All you need is a 2nd rate striker with pace to chase onto a long ball over the top and our defence is in panic mode. As you said playing a high line was fine when we had walker bailing us out time and again but none of our current defenders can do that except for kushanov and he doesn't get a bloody game
 
The crowds for the first 2 quarter Finals were Fluminense v Al Hilal: 43,091 and Palmeiras v Chelsea: 65,782.

I watched Fluminense v Al Hilal, and Fluminense sat back and defended for most of the game. The commitment from both sides was huge. It was too late to watch the Chelsea game but I noticed they won with a late o.g. I think Chelsea v Fluminense will be a tight game because Chelsea do not score many goals.

PSG v Bayern and Real Madrid v Dortmund are great games on paper for later today.

I think if we had got through v Flu it would have been a much bigger crowd.
 
Put a City shirt on and went to Al Hilal v Fluminese it made getting over our result even harder.A lot of neutrals there in different teams shirts. Fans approaching me saying they were there cos they thought it would be us when they purchased their tickets.No 115 shouts or cheating bastards towards me which was novel.
 
Two brilliant games today with big crowds. RM v Dortmund was 76,000 noisey as feck the full game.

Bayern v PSG had everything including a goal for PSG when down to nine men.

No idea how much tickets were bur who cares. I wish ours were cheaper!

Chelsea are so jammy, which is why I think they have a good chance to win this competition. Soo annoying.

Should’ve been us v Chelsea semi. Still can’t believe we blew that Al Hilal game. THAT is the most annoying thing. It’s taking longer than I would like to get over that result- especially as I’m still in the USA until 14 July. :-(
 
Still here but that may change tomorrow. Tickets for both semis on ticketmaster(cheapest at the moment). Tuesday Chelsea v Fluminese 13-40. Wednesday Real Madrid v PSG 266-60 that is dollars.

I can’t watch it I’m still too annoyed with our performance against Al Hilal, it was a f****** joke, we should’ve been in the final v PSG or RM ! A wasted opportunity that we’ll probably never get again.
 
Will be honest have watched o ly our 3 games and not even looked at the results since our defeat.

And now a real talent has had next season (the real football) ruined for him with a terrible injury.

Thank fuck it's only every 4 years
 
The problem with the CWC isn't that it's a "joke of a competition", it's the first iteration, give it time and it will become the premier club competition. It's that the top European clubs can't control it like they do the CL. So they try to downplay it and the press, in England anyway, dutifully follow their paymasters.

If it was up to me, FIFA should promote the hell out of the CWC and the WC and the EC and the CL should be scrapped. Who cares about being champions of Europe when the big title is champions of the world? It's like a big six club winning the FA Cup. That should ease some concerns over player welfare. Won't happen you say? Then shut up about player welfare and admit it's just about the power of the top European clubs and money.

100%. If the red cartel were involved and their press pack got a free holiday out of it, it would be the best thing going.

They will expand it in 4 years and Barca, Milan, Rags and Liverpool, Arsenal will all be there alongside the current set of teams from Europe.

It will get played in South America where the games will sell out with 80k every match and all of a sudden it will be proclaimed as the greatest tournament known to man.

UEFA and FIFA will be happy because this tournament will stave off the super league long term.

What FIFA cannot do is put it in a region where they know ticket sales won't be big and the weather isn't overbearing and troublesome.

South America in the summer is perfect as it's their winter.
 
I guess the next one will be in Spain/Portugal/Morocco which has the potential for many more European clubs supporters to attend. I think it could be great.

It is seen. as a jok due to the randomness of the participants, A Cup for the champions of each continent and then random teams based on fuck knows criteria Infantano jist made up because the 4 year gap makes it messy


By rights Inter Miami should not have been in it or Chelsea, bayern or benfica

if they wanted the frech, english, german, portuguese, spanish and italian teams.in it then the one who won the 23/24 seasons should have been there, but again makingit every 4 years makes that imposible.

The old set up of yearly competion im december was fine, this cash cow for fifa won't attract wide spread interest beyond people playing in it, I mean in the next one it could be liverpool and arsenal as English reps say, honestly will anyone here be bothered to watch it if so bar just to pass the time?



And of course if you are in it you want to win it, I would have loved us to win it, but I really have no intrerest in it since we went out.

You cant say we shouldhave progressed. Football is about being able to attack AND defend..as a team we are miles off a crucial 50% of a game.. woeful recruitment in that dep't. Also its easier to coach defending.. sh*t focus from our academy..plus really poor tactics defensively.
