Clubs furloughing staff

Clearly all Premier League clubs should furlough their non playing staff immediately - before reversing their decision.... issue a grovelling, sickly sycophantic apology and then Dan Roan and Oli Holt will praise you from the heavens and eulogise about what great owners you have. Go on Everton try it and see what happens.

To say that I am disappointed but not shocked by the usual media spin and ease that FSG have been let off the hook for this is a sad indictment of the already plummeted levels we expect from this profession.

The sports journo's in this country literally hold zero credibility - absolute disgrace........
they're praising them for not going ahead with the shithead thing they were planning on doing.....

I would love Everton to do it and respond to any negative media aftermath with each specific Liverpool positive that said journo released about them - could be very powerful (a bit like the Sterling and Foden buying houses scenario).........

I honestly think Liverpool have got several of them on their payroll (plus obviously, they have a disproportionate number of fans in the media). People harp on about click bait, but for every Liverpool fan that wants a good Liverpool story, there are dozens of other fans who hate the vile ****s and would like to read a negative story. The only other explanation I can think of for them getting nothing but positive press, is journalists and their bosses are afraid of upsetting them; through sensitivity over Hillsborough or because they have a very high number of keyboard warriors fighting from their bedrooms at their mum's houses in places like Milton Keynes, who like to target individuals.
The disgraceful way that the Sun reported on Hillsborough, and the even more disgusting way Kelvin McKenzie subsequently managed the situation, allied to the way Liverpool supporters mobilised around that, and then became emboldened by it, as well as prevailing cultural mores within the city itself, plus all the overarching commercial considerations, have all conspired to give rise to a situation where no meaningful objective criticism can be maintained for a sustained period against LFC as an institution, or heaven forbid their supporters, from within the mainstream media.

You get the odd hesitant, cowardly jab from time to time, but never a volley of punches like other clubs routinely have to endure, most notably us.

Any football journalist, if they are capable of honest introspection, will acknowledge this undeniable truth: they are all too frightened to report honestly about this club, and the worst excesses of its supporters.

Very well put

The Dippers PR depaertment must have every media publication in their back pocket , how they can turn a cowardly decision of asking HMRC to pay their emlolyees wages into a positive spin is staggering , imagine if we had made the same request to HMRC , their would be questions in the House of Lords and a movement for our whole history as a football club to be voided , neve rmind one season.
Greedt scouse *****.

Sports Journalists in this country really are the pits.

Also, seen lots of Scousers saying they should be commended for making their club U-turn.

Lol!!
