Coldest/worst weather at a City match

9th Feb 1991 v Chelsea. Won 2 1. Most games postponed that day. Warm enough in the middle of the Kippax freezing everywhere else!

I remember that day, because I was due to come up for the match, abandoned all hope at Euston, went home and spent the afternoon hammering up and down Box Hill near Dorking on a bin liner sledge instead! I think there were only two games played nationwide that day

I remember many years ago on the coach to notts forest in the cup and half way there the snow was that bad the driver turned back after hearing on the radio the match had been called off.
Is my mind playing tricks on me. Can anyone else remember?

Everton home 2009/10 was about minus 7.

The Fulham game was the worst for getting home, Saltzburg seemed colder and WBA (rearranged night game) Dec 97 was also one I remember being v cold.

Think that was called off cos of rain. Remember it as was in my mates front room waiting for Piccadilly radio to say if it was on or off....we thought they said it was on, piled in the van and off we went.
Realised we got it wrong when we saw all the other coaches/vans coming back when we were half way there.

Ipswich. Still soaked through! Ooh Vonky Vonky!

EDIT: And seeing every blue running from alleyways to walls to keep dry. It actually rained sideways that day.

I remember one year absolutely yonks ago being in the Kippax when it was so foggy you could only see one goal from where we were. City scored at the scoreboard end (which we couldn't see) and a chant went up: 'Who scored the goal?' Hard to believe I know, but true - we don't get fogs like that any more.

Apart from that, I really remember getting soaked in the Oldham deluge. Me and my mate came away like a pair of drowned rats.
