Coldest/worst weather at a City match

Cold: Salzburg at home, must have been -8!
Wet: Ipswich at home, midweek cup game at Maine Road
Hot: Blackburn away Oct 2011, with it being October loads of people had coats on and it was about 25degrees.

I remember many years ago on the coach to notts forest in the cup and half way there the snow was that bad the driver turned back after hearing on the radio the match had been called off.
Is my mind playing tricks on me. Can anyone else remember?

Think that was called off cos of rain. Remember it as was in my mates front room waiting for Piccadilly radio to say if it was on or off....we thought they said it was on, piled in the van and off we went.
Realised we got it wrong when we saw all the other coaches/vans coming back when we were half way there.

You're both wrong. It was called off because of fog. I was on one of the coaches which turned round at the Cat and Fiddle pub. Then again, it was a long time ago so my memory might not be 100%.

Agree with all three, although Oldham away was a close second to Ipswich home as the wettest. Blues sat in their undies at every launderette on the way home from Oldham with their clothes in the driers.

Barnsley Away New Years Eve 1983
Coventry Away FA Cup 1985
Oldham Away 1987 (sunstroke and pneumonia at the same game)
Copenhagen Away 2009

All of them dwarfed by Hamburg v Shalke last season the day after City had beaten Watford in the FA Cup.
Just think Napoleon’s retreat from Moscow

Everton 2010 - by far the worst I have felt
I can't believe you said it w,w but you have my vote its Defoe my worst ever cold night at football I fucked off home and left my two mates in the ground and I was the driver the cold was too much and you couldn't ring each other in the ground and get through back then .
Felt bad cos one mate had his son with him but on the night it was fuck you jack tackle it really was unbearable
And I've been to notts county havin snowball fights with the coppers but I was only in my teens then haha

We played Derby at Maine Rd one Boxing Day. I was sat on the temporary stand in between the Kippax and Platt Lane. It was the coldest I have ever been in my entire life.

agree with worsley- everton at home in dec 2010 was the coldest I have ever been. I could not have been wearing more layers even had gloves and a furry hat on, still felt like I was in shorts and a t shirt. Think we lost 2-1 as well which made it even worse.

honourable mention to the europa tie v salzburg which was mrs houseski's first City match. The snow and sub zero temps had her calling a taxi at half time

Oldham away in 1984 first away game it pissed it down like a monsoon and I was as wet as you could possibly be. The program I had bought did not survive it just fell into pieces.

Coldest at City was about 2 years ago Fulham I think it took 8 hours to drive 30 miles home with all the snow and ice it was horrendous.

The Fulham game is the coldest for me too. Feet were soaking walking to the ground, then I got stuck at York train station til 2am because of the snow. Absolute shocker.
