I was there and I don't remember the cold. We were drinking outside all day in then 'fanzone'. Maybe a lot of this depends on your clothes ;-)

Agree about Boro in the Cup, not sure how we made it over the M62 tbh.

Going back a bit there was an away game at Coventry around 81-ish, it was one of the few games to go ahead that day because Cov had undersoil heating but the temp was around -6 without the wind chill.

Juve away in the Uefa Cup a few years ago was bloody freezing too.
I was at that game, got chucked out just after half time for swearing, whilst being marched out the City fans started giving the police some grief. one of the cops told me I was going to get a kicking at the back of the stand. I didn't thanks to the blues who had already been thrown out. They bombarded the area with snowballs, the Police were getting a real pounding.. Once outside, I joined in with the rest of the blues until the police chased us back to the coaches. We won the game 1-0

Shrewsbury on a Tuesday night in the snow after playing at Brighton on the Saturday when my banana popped with the heat.

Bro away x 3 one league cup in the fog, one F A cup in the snow and a league hammering when it was cracking the flags in Thursk but freezing in bro.

Home must be Everton around 2010.

Serious q !! Was that the away game where we were made to take off our Doc Martin Boots ?? Can`t remember what year it was,but we were under the same stand as the Coventry Hard Boys Club but surrounded by Coppers. Before we were allowed to get in anyone with Doc Martin Boots had to take them off, given a ticket and collect them on the way out !!!!!!
Now hat was fucking cold !!

Two spring to mind.

Sitting in the Gene Kelly stand when we lost to Leeds, with a howling wind. It was -8, heaven knows what the chill factor was. 2001 I think.

The worst by far, though, was the Salzburg game. It was as cold as sitting in a freezer, and I understood the expression 'freezing your nuts off' that night. It was something like -15 or so.

We played a game a few days later, I can't remember who we played, but it was a balmy freezing point. It seemed warm in comparison.

The 'Alan' game was ace because we were all in it together.

Far worse for me was Liverpool at home for the 3-0. Was sat ridiculously high up and occasionally suffer from vertigo. A strong wind was making the roof of the stand wobble and freaked me the fuck out. Could barely concentrate on the game!

I picked my testicles up on my way out.

In recent memory, Fulham at home - Jan 2012 (?).

Surprised the game went ahead. Snow being shovelled up during the match to see the lines on the pitch.

Hahah Yes mate I`d forgotten that game and I think the only reason we started singing and taking the piss out of "Alan" was to keep ourselves warm.
Alan looked so bemused as to why we kept chanting his name, but nothing more than trying to keep warm.
