Yes he has had a lot of praise from the manager, but plenty of smoke was blown up Palmers arse when he debuted by Pep, and we still seem to opt to buy ready made player than risk a less successful season and try the youth, eventually selling them on.

After last seson I would have been happy to see Palmer, McAtee & Lewis fully blooded into the first 11 over buying replacing mahrez and gundo and risked a less successful year.

Exactly!

Lewis has been the 'canary in the coal mines'. Literally testing out positions cos of his youth and mobility and established players kick on.

While Guardiola's here (and unless he can show the manager he's not seen him properly), he doesn't change things for the team except to recycle the ball, which we have plenty of players that can do this, too and so won't get proper game time until we're desperate.
 
Didn't realise he wanted out, but it doesn't make sense if he goes Chelsea, thry have like 3 or 4 players in his position already.
