No - I think it was a good move for him. I think the kid wanted more minutes and heard its also good for him to get away from Wythenshawe too.
That was an excellent and funny article. Thanks for posting.Interesting take on Palmer below taken from an analysis of last night's game on the Football365 site (https://www.football365.com/news/16...1-romero-udogie-dier-jackson-palmer-hat-trick).
Incidentally, the full piece is well worth a read as a brilliant example of insightful and entertaining football journalism. MEN take note.
There was, though, one Chelsea player who was an active and pro-active participant throughout. Cole Palmer. He may well end up one of the signings of the season. He was the one Chelsea player able to get his foot on the ball and progress it up the pitch with precision and purpose during Spurs’ fast start and he remained an oasis of calm in the middle of a game that overheated the heads of pretty much everyone else involved, up to and including the man who ended it with the match ball. It would be a fine effort from a seasoned professional; for a 21-year-old starting a Premier League game for only the eighth time it was extraordinary. If you can get through a game like this without being thrown off kilter by it all, then you’re probably going to be fine.
He made 41 appearances for us scoring 6 times and we replaced him, for not much more money, with someone a couple of weeks younger and with almost 100 more first team appearances and a dozen international caps.
Isn’t that to do with patience though from the player and the club. We basically bought someone who had more experience/ game time vs palmer who needed to play every week to develop. In those 41 appearances he barely started a game.
Who knows in a 100 games palmer could end up being the better player. We’ll find out over the next few years. Right now he’s Chelsea’s best player and probably one of the top talents in England right now.
We must have an ex player at nearly every club in the Premier league now. (arsenal, rags spurs, villa, Chelsea, newcastle)just shows the level we're currently at, or more so the rest of the league.
a bench/fringe player for us, is a standout player at a club like chelsea.
