Cole Palmer

There's a lot of denial in this thread.

His potential was evident. Homegrown. Plays multiple positions.

It's salt in the wound that Doku's injury concerns seem legitimate even with better facilities/staffing at City.

I adore Pep, but I won't change my mind that his okaying the selling of Cole was purely ego-driven/and or to pad his net spend, which he brought up very often in years past.

He still wouldn't be playing much for us, he wanted to go. Nothing to debate.

Cole wanted to leave. End of the matter.

Pad his net spend? Nah, that’s bullshit. Soriano met have something to say about that, though. That’s not a criticism on him, he’s running a business after all.

I think the fact he is a home ground manc plays a lot in city fans minds. It would have been great if it worked out for him with us but it didn’t and personally I wish him all the best except against us. Maybe he will be our secret agent against title rivals!

To everyone saying "what were we supposed to do, he said he wanted to leave", I think we should have said "sorry lad, you have a contract and that works both ways since this is a professional football club and not a charity. There is not enough time to sign a replacement since you didn't bring in any offers sooner. So you will have to stay since we cant risk spending the first half of the season with zero attacking options on the bench, the club comes first". Instead of bending over and saying "well this makes our already thin squad depth even weaker and is the last thing we needed, but the most important thing is not the club, its that you are happy".
