Maybe, mate. We will wait and see.Sounds a lot like foden a few years ago. Slowing the game down and making the right decisions comes with age/ more games.
The lad has got talent there’s no debating that.

Then it is good he moved to Chelsea, because he wasn’t going to get the games needed to improve those aspects staying with us.Sounds a lot like foden a few years ago. Slowing the game down and making the right decisions comes with age/ more games.
I agree to a point, but we never separated penalties when serenading Haaland's goals last season. Indeed our recent history might have been completely different with a decent penalty taker. He’s obviously a good player, but I do think people are getting a little carried away. 8 of his 16 league goals have been penalties. Not saying he isn’t good, but if he wasn’t Chelsea’s penalty taker he’d have 8 goals, against much fewer deep blocks than what we face, and hardly anyone would be saying we’re desperately missing him. He only has 1 more non-penalty goal than Rodri.
For me it's not about this season - ironically with KDB's injury and body breaking down he would have got ample game time - sods law. BUT it's the potential..slowly easing in more games for next couple of years, he is confident, has great touch - will improve - the Arsenal game is a non convo for me. Get a load of local lads in the team - what a statement and really would have helped re FFP. If he becomes the player I think he may do in 2 years that would have been 80 - 100 m saved and further inspired next gen of young local academy lads - bigger picture - it's a shame we couldn't persuade him to stay for another year or two then re assess. So does anyone think Palmer would have unpicked Arsenal's defence last Sun? I reckon not - he would struggle as much if not more with no space/ultra low block as everyone else. Maybe he turns out to be a better player than Doku, but I am not certain - quite difficult to predict how a 21 year old will evolve. So yes maybe we could have kept him instead of Doku and Nunes, but there is no evidence (yet) that we dropped a massive bollock as some are claiming.
Let's see him influence really big games (title tussles, Europe, etc) then we can talk. Starting with FA Cup semi ...
Think about how many pens we have missed over last few seasons - bit easier now with Haaland but we will see...we missed loads of 'emHe’s obviously a good player, but I do think people are getting a little carried away. 8 of his 16 league goals have been penalties. Agreed we say just pens then list a load of key misses! i'd be more confident of a Palmer pen then Haaland's although he has been good for us since he started taking them.I agree to a point, but we never separated penalties when serenading Haaland's goals last season. Indeed our recent history might have been completely different with a decent penalty taker.
Mahrez scores at Liverpool and 18/19 is far less stressful, plus we break our Anfield hoodoo
Aguero's scores at Tottenham in the CL and City have a vital away goal
Gundogan scores at Tottenham in the PL and we probably win and keep the pressure on Liverpool in 19/20
Mahrez scores at West Ham in 21/22 and we don't need all that stress v Villa the following week.
Disagree, i think he has great touch and vision for his first proper season, as a 21 yr old kid, what potential...Much harder to score and create in a struggling team as the quality around him is poorer than it would be if he deputised for Kev when injured first half of season - bad timing for all i'm afraid. It’s not stupid. If you actually watch the matches you’ll see his overall play is actually pretty poor and his attacking prowess just works to balance that out.
They’re tenth for a reason and, along with the issues coming from their other promising but flawed players, he is part of that reason.
It is amazing how blinkered blues can be when they are watching a former City academy player.
Agree completelyUnless I’ve checked the stats wrong doesn’t he have more goals and assists than both?taking away the penalties as well.
I think it’s a skill in itself to be so clinical at penalties.
Does some great things is all you needed to say. No player makes perfect decisions with every touch. The reality is he's currently carrying Chelsea with his productivity. You can say what you want. It seems the wimpy posts come from those who don’t accept others don’t rate him as highly as others but still rate him as a good player.
Last night was the perfect example as to why he probably wasn’t the best fit at City.
Does some great things and has eye catching moments but tries to do to much and loses it a lot.
Chelsea and their tactics of having no tactics suits him to the ground.
Good luck to him.
