Probably.
Just no need to keep pontificating piffle every fuckin' week by posters who can't accept him doing well for Chelsea.
Well he's very talented at creating attacking threat, asking him to be perfect at defending is kinda nit picking imo. By your logic, you can also say Haaland and Messi are something of a liability too defensively.
I never said he doesn't need to defend, he's not great at defending but still doing OK imo, and I certainly didn't see his attitude as ''half arsed''. I never expect an attacking player like him should be required to defend like prime Kyle Walker or Rodri. He’s a midfielder who have defensive duties. Haaland defends very well when necessary and certainly not in the half arsed way Palmer does.
Oh and citing Messi is frankly ridiculous,
Our Academy players will attract a higher premium on the transfer market on the back of those currently playing their trade at other clubs.Surely we should all be happy with
A) the fee we got - no matter what his worth might be now - itcwas good money at the time and
B) how good his progress - along with quite a few ex academy players - has been for quality of our Academy. Whilst all other clubs will be constrained / fucked over by the financial regulations - we will be able to afford whoever we want - because of the income from selling academy players
This is enough to close the thread for me. Sums everything up and it's a balanced POV. There's nothing else that could be said that wouldn't be repeating part of this post one way or another.I've always said I would have liked Palmer to stay at City and succeed, But he had the bollocks to leave and look for first team football as he wasn't prepared to hang around for his opportunity with us.
He's had a great start to his Chelsea career, When the going is good he's on his A game, Maybe not so much when the chips are down.
Personally, The more I see him at Chelsea the more I think he wouldn't get away with what he does at City, He's a passenger for large periods of these types of games and doesn't have any responsibility when it comes to the defensive side of things, Something Pep wouldn't stand for, He would also be stuck to a certain position and certain duties, Again something that wouldn't suit Palmer and he likes freedom do roam around.
I still believe it was the correct move for both parties.
Messi has never bothered defending in his career since Enrique left Barça in 2017.He’s a midfielder who have defensive duties. Haaland defends very well when necessary and certainly not in the half arsed way Palmer does.
