Cole Palmer

Our Academy players will attract a higher premium on the transfer market on the back of those currently playing their trade at other clubs.
100% this ^

We witnessed that with Barca's La Masia, dozens of young players have left there for top money and with great reputations, some have had superb careers in the game, many have disappeared but the reputation of kids from there will always make them desirable to other clubs and we are now in the same if not better position with our academy.

Another totally anonymous display in a big game, I'll tell you something, England's "superstars" have left a lot to be desired this season, and I'm including Foden there.

Palmer needs to get used to playing games with a player following him around the pitch everywhere he goes like De Bruyne has over the years.

Partey and Casemiro have been his shadow in the last two weeks and he’s not really been able to find a way to shine out of it.

That’s where we’ll see if he really is a top player in the next few years.

Talented player with lots of potential but still a bit overrated imo. All this 'Cold Palmer' stuff is a bit silly. Could be accused of being a bit of a flat-track bully. Happy to take all the penalties and stat pad against teams in the bottom half but he almost completely disappears against better sides and in bigger games.

Was like this last season as well. When you broke it all down he scored something like three goals from open play against teams in the top 10 during 23/24. He's a really talented young lad with a high ceiling but he doesn't work hard enough and isn't consistent enough to play for teams with our ambitions.

It's working well for him at Chelsea for the exact reasons that it wouldn't work for him at City. Every game is a massive game at City - every team wants to beat us and kick us, frustrate us and sit deep. He wouldn't hit his potential this way. He wouldn't be able to take advantage of teams underestimating us like they do Chelsea.

For Chelsea he can ghost out of games for 20 minutes here, 30 minutes there. If Chelsea drop points it's not the end of the world, but if he was part of a City team that was scoring 1.73 points per game he'd be having serious questions asked about him and a lot of pressure would mount on his shoulders. It's a totally different ball game.
