Cole Palmer

He has just grown up and developed, pointless doing comparison thinking about how he was here and what he is now. He wanted to leave, hes come on great, and thats that. Good on him

He never performed as well as he is currently performing whilst at City. Foden's record is much better and mostly he has taken fully on board what Pep expects from his players hence more opportunities including some really big games earlier on in his development. Palmer's penalty taking is useful but the rest of his game we still have the players who could do that.
Foden & Bernado are the only 2 we have that can do that....and currently neither is doing it, Salvinho/Doku never have and are never likely to, Grealish offers different attributes, but goal/assist outputs, not even close. Nunes (who I think is ok) not even close, and Bobb has never shown anything more than Palmer either (at best).
Whether Pep should have given him more game time, or whether Palmer should have been more patient is a different debate. Some say he's a bit cocky etc, maybe it's self belief (if it's the latter, fair play to him). I always saw on here (not being a Manc, so maybe a little less biased) that him, or his family being reds, he was always looked at a bit more negatively than 'blues' from the academy?

Everybody saying it was a mistake selling, Well if somebody does not listen to Pep's advice and demands a first-team place does not belong at Manchester City

Ok stands out as a talent but knocking in pens flatters him because his name is on the score sheet, He does go missing for loads of games and that is why he is not the finished article.
Way too inexperienced to be the finished article - im sure he'd say that right off..... but what potential

What's wrong with that though? We're (mostly) all blues, the club isn't perfect, errors are made, palmer being allowed to leave is proving to be a bigger error by the week, there's nothing wrong with mentioning that just like we all do when players we sold don't find greener fields elsewhere. It doesn't have to be seen as an attack on the club where we all have to go full partisan and shoot down any criticism.

Put me in a room full of rags and dippers and I'll defend my club on absolutely anything but amongst other blues it should be fine to acknowledge the errors. If we didn't, we'd be dippers.
It's not the criticism per se, it's the fact it's brought up every time an ex player scores. If we made a mistake, fine, criticise then move on.

He has NEVER been a donkey FFS...Cole Palmer was an amazing young asset that had all the tools with us, great touch, spacial awareness, ball appreciation...boy he is just what we needed this season let's have it right
I wasn't talking about Palmer. I think you'd better read my post again. I was talking about Jackson at Chelsea.

Would Palmer have been given the freedom he has at Chelsea ?

But something new has happened to reinforce those opinions, they're not commenting on the same thing. I dont see what the issue is.

Should we never comment on how much of a bargain Haaland was everytime he scores simply because we've already done it? Everytime Harry Maguire gets on the pitch we have a laugh that we wouldn't stump up £80million for him, should we not do that because we've done it countless times?

The comments on palmer are no different to those 2 examples except 1 paints us in a poor light.

Phil has performed at a higher level for longer. Foden doesn't take penalties.
Pep rated Phil from the moment he arrived at City and brought him through eh had total belief in him IMHO I doesn’t think Pep rated Cole as highly prof being he was allowed to leave
You point is irrelevant to that
