The King signed the iconic number 8 shirt for my 50th.Lucky I got one for my 65th birthday 5years ago.
70 years old and I'm crying like a baby. My all-time hero is no more.

I am pretty sure Uwe Rosler, who probably never saw Colin play, named one of his sons after the King (he called him Colin, not King), such is Colin’s legendary status at City

Thankful that I saw the King play many times.
Simply one of the most complete football players ever to grace the English game and one of the finest to wear the sky blue.

Doesn't really matter who you're opinion of our greatest player was. When you ask the fans, one name will stand out like a beacon. Sadly tonight the light has been switched off in all our lives.
Privelliged to have watched him, ecstatic to have attended his comeback, miserable at his enforced retirement.
In later years I was almost speechless meeting him several times as A team manager and I a star struck youngish ref. After one game, on my way to Maine Rd, I asked him to sign the team sheet and my seasie, the absolute look of pleasure on his face was incredible. "You're a blue", I'll never forget it.
Rest in Peace great man, a king in name, a colossus in stature, a true legend forever in our hearts.
