Colin bell

I am 53 and very lucky to see him play i also [my pride and joy] have his sighned shirt and another reason for my fukin hatred of rags

Agreed my all time football hero, we never replaced him and neither did England, he was Englands best player at the time and would I'm sure gone on to win 100 caps, if you're not a city fan and below a certain age you would probably have never heard of him which is a crying shame, I always say he was the same type of player but MUCH better than Robson, Gerrard or Lampard.

great post just because it gives us a chance to remenisce about the greatest ever city player..

I second that i am 56 and seen all his career at city , he was cruely robbed of a fantastic career

By that Rag Tw.t, Martin F.cking Buchan!

Bell was probably the best player i've seen in a city shirt, some of our younger fans should stop listening to bullshit,it wasn't even a foul,Buchan wasn't even that kind of player

Martin Buchan definately wasn't that kind of player.
And your right it wasn't a foul.
Just a tragedy it cut short such a great players career.
I've been watching City since the mid 50's, and NOBODY comes close to Colin Bell.
The greatest City player in my lifetime.

Colin Bell was, and will always be, quite simply...The King.
I watched him in the latter part of his career, and the comeback game at home to Newcastle will stay with me forever...It was the loudest noise I have ever heard City fans make..and it went on, and on, and on...Grown men around me were in tears and singing we'll drink a drink a drink for a full 45 mins...F@ckin legend and for me never really given the respect he deserved on a world level, partly because of Englands failure to qualify for the 74 world cup and partly because he was a Blue.

One of his finest moments.

dunno, could say that about most of the England team at that time, remember him scoring 2 against the Czechs(who went on to win EC76)at wembley in 75.
