Colin Pitchfork

They should never have released him in the first place, hopefully he will now die behind bars.
Due process I expect, but 100% agree with you.
Apparently he had more conditions on his release than any other released prisoner, which tells its own tale. Someone is on his side in the fucked up system we have, thankfully common sense prevails and the double child killer is back where he belongs, for now.

Not surprised at all. Apparently elements of his behaviour were causing concern. Whoever thought letting him out was a good idea needs a kick right up the arse. Seems like he may have been on his way to reoffending

They need a kick in the nether regions and then one in the head to hopefully knock some sense into them. The do gooders who oppose the death penalty say one innocent person hanged is one too many. By the same analogy one innocent person killed by a wrongly released convicted murderer is one too many. I haven't got the statistics but id guess the latter outweigh the former.

There isn't a worse crime than taking somebody's life. The justice system needs an overhaul. People might argue a life sentence is just that but we know it isn't, it can be as little as 12 years unless a judge imposes a higher minimum tariff. People feared the noose but a lot of these scumbags don't fear prison. Sure they'd rather not be there but they're alive, with the possibility that no matter how heinous their crime, as in Pitchforks case, unless a whole life tariff is given they could savagely murder two kids and still walk free. Pitchfork was released at 61. Pictures of him show he is still a large fit looking man who would give most men a tough fight if he attacked them, never mind a woman or a kid. The young savages roaming our streets today are similar. They will often attack a lone person, even if a rival gang member and not just give them a kicking but butcher them with knives and machetes. Merciless and their sentence should reflect that. Some do indeed get a long one, 22 years or a little more, but at say the age of 20 then they could be out at 42, young fit and with a good possible 40 years ahead of them to enjoy. It's wrong. Minimum tariff s should be introduced starting at 40 years minimum for murder. Kill someone at 20 you're not seeing the light of day until you're 60 at least. Brutal? Yes but so is being hacked to death at 20. Something has to make these thugs stop and think before picking up the knife or machete. With cctv and dna hopefully it is a miniscule risk the wrong person is convicted. For sexual murdering deviants like Pitchfork life should mean exactly that

We know how far reaching the evil of paedophilia is and that would mean there are probably plenty working and hiding in the criminal justice system, that's probably a clue as to why some argued for his release. We also have plenty of religious do gooders, many of whom have lived sheltered lives far away from the harsh realities of growing up and living in tough inner city estates. These people mean well but believe everyone can be reformed and have some good in them, well I'm sorry some can't. Some have also blown that chance by the nature of their crimes and Pitchfork certainly comes into that category.

Good post.
Far too many do gooders with no experience have far too much to say, and far too much influence in this type of crime.
It's abhorent in our society that we look after murdererers at our expense, honest, hard working guys and girls that pay taxes and expect the powers that be to use that money wisely.
I'm not the kind of person who celibrates the killing of another human, but if someone murders 2 children, then I don't see why my taxes should be used to house, feed and clothe them.

Some crimes people are convicted of just carry too much of a risk to allow that person back into society and sexually driven killer's are at the top of that list. They will always be a danger so long as they have breath in their bodies.

Sad to say that if he’d killed a member of my family I’d hunt the **** down and I’d be serving life very shortly. Don’t give a shit if he is declared the pope and a saint he deserves a long painful death.
Could only be declared a saint after dying, so not happening. Yet.

Spot on mate.
I'm all for rehabilitation, but if you've murdered 2 children, you're beyond what our justice system can do for you.
You haven't been at the pick n mix in woolies, you've raped and murdered 2 kids.

Exactly, rehabilitation shouldn't be an option, not only do i think it's not possible in such cases but the only punishment for such a crime, sadly as there's no death penalty, is you are never released.
