I've supported city for nearly 40 years and could respond to that article in equal length. Suffice to say I have never been so excited as a blue. For this man to describe our owner as 'rotten to the core' disgusts me and makes me wonderwhat are his true ulterior motives for such an article. I can only can only hear religious bigotry personally and am sickened.

What is the difference between a butcher's merchant / meat packing businessman (Louis Edwards), and a UAE based oil billionaire? Basically none. Clubs have always been a play thing or a vehicle of power and meglomania for owners since football became organised and prize money existed.

The reflective glory was always for the owner or the chairman or directors, if anything this 'project' of glory is less self-centred and less personalised - it is ostensibly for the recognition of a region, an economy and a culture. I have no problems with this. Furthermore, the players that deliver this glory are now wealthy and deservedly so, not paupers, pumped full of anti-inflammatories and left on the scrap heap. Altogether more democratic.

This article is pure romanticism without any clincial analysis.

i would say in a way he is selfish and unapreciative. He has lived through times of glory for the club when we lifted trophies and were an established and feared outlet. Now its looking like we can reconstruct those times and he's moaning about it! Yes i know we are spending huge amounts of money, but thats what you've got to do to compete nowadays. Maybe it's just me seeing it all wrong but one things for sure, i cannot wait for the new season to start and i really appreciate all that ADUG, Sheikh Mansour, Chairman Khaldoon, Garry Cook and Hughes have done/are doing for this club, long may it continue. Its nwards and upwards form here hopefully : )

He thinks he was popular because he wrote about us when we were shit. His book named after the rags was a durge and self centered shite. Now we have a chance of doing something he has realised there are better writers out there who will have something good to write about and he will no longer be the guy who writes books about city. gary james is far more accomplished as an author and a propper blue to boot. colin old son your 15 minutes was years ago, and you never grasped that chance. Now you just sound bitter and twisted, you would love us to be rubbish again, but that just isnt going to happen. Even I , having been blue for nearly 43 years can grasp the fact that times have changed, and we have been given the best chance ever to succeed. Grab that chance with both hands and celebrate it, dont use it as a stick to beat yourself with.

Infact after reading the article again, I'm just even more disgusted. To describe our owners as rotten to the core is quite frankly a disgrace, and I believe its racial and bigotry.

Does anyone think Colin would be as vocal in his anti noveau-riche sentiments if we had been bought by Estee Laude, Ralph Lauren or Georgina Bloomberg as opposed to a very rich Muslim?
