Colin Shindler in the Mail

He needs to take a closer look at things, the current board we have are here to make us successful and look after us the fans, when was the last time an owner spent 200 million on players then REDUCED ticket prices? when was the last time a club decided to make a european 1/4 final £5 for adults and £1 for kids, they are bringing back the working mans game for reasonable prices. Personally I have never felt soo valued by this club. Maybe it's just me...

bang on, the club are totally fan-focused. If Mr Schindler feels alienated, perhaps that's because they have very little time for parasites, who use our history to make money, by spreading a version of our culture that attempts to glorify self-pity and perpetual despair.

Can we please leave the comments about race/religion out of this topic, we can all read into his words what we want, but what he says is just bollocks, and there is no need for religion/race to be brought into it.

Sorry mate but I don't know how you can keep religion/race comments out of this discussion.

Its quite easy.....

No matter if you think his argument is religious/racist just keep it off the board please, thanks.

Shut your door on the way out Colin you blundering old fool.

Sickingly-sweet-and-sour emotivism. The style is emo-adolescent. He probably writes "poetry". There are two transparently cynical attempts at manipulation: he must think no-one will see them for what they are.

On one hand I think people are reading too much into this. I can't see any anti-Arab sentiment in there; it seems that it's Shinawatra & Wardle he's having a go at more than ADUG, if you read it properly. And he's right. Wardle was a nice, well-meaning but very weak man who was dominated by Keegan then by that rag-supporting accountant Mackintosh, who really ripped the soul out of our club.

If you really want xenophobia, listen to Dave Whelan's or Peter Hill-Wood's utterances on Johhny Foreigner owning our clubs and raping our women.

However, even though he and I have a lot in common - I'm also Jewish, live yards from where he grew up and went to school and my family knew his very well - I can't agree with hs sentiments that something has been lost over the last year. I welcome our owners and the opportunities they give us. I don't care about their race, religion or colour but I do care about theor attitude to our club and the fans. And everything I've seen so far suggests that they are just about the best owners any club could have.

I said City moved a match from Yom Kippur under Bernstein and it gets deleted for being 'anti-Jewish'.

It was a fact, we beat Ipswich 1-0 Horlock header and Weaver cartwheels etc.

This is my last post on here, I am not posting on a site that defends certain religions to the hilt but allow others to be slagged off.

I did nothing wrong at all.

It's not a fact that the Ipswich game in 1999 was scheduled to avoid Yom Kippur at all. It was played on a Wednesday night when two other games in the same division were played, and nine took place 24 hours earlier: http://www.soccerbase.com/results_by_date.sd?date=1999-10-27+00:00:00. In other words, there was a full midweek programme and we played on a Wednesday because we have, for most of the last 30 years, preferred to play home midweek matches on a Wednesday.

I can't agree with the thrust of Shindler's piece. Actually, he's right to a degree that there seems to be less soul about City than there was in the past, but the same can be said of any other big club. He doesn't seem to understand that his problem isn't with City so much as with modern football.

You've hit the nail right on the head there.

It's time to hang up his typewriter if this dross is the best he can come up with nowadays. And if he's so embarrassed to be a City fan, perhaps he should stop banging on about being one at every opportunity he gets. We certainly won't miss the miserable, condescending twat.

For a man who 'claims' to be a City fan he spends most of his articles and books having a go at us - any love for the club seems to be in the past. Well he's lucky he can remember the golden era - many of us can't and the present owners have given us the opportunity to win things - that we never thought we'd have. Personally I wish he would just give it a rest - I find his writting a bit pitiful and patronising - a so called 'celebrity fan' we could well do without.

If Schindler got a free ticket to United v Liverpool he would take it in a heartbeat, fucking fake blue. I feel the same about City as I always have, "let's win the next match". The only difference now is we may well win the next match.

Forty years a Blue and I love City just as much as ever. Every time I hear Shindler he sounds more and more like a rag. Winge, winge, moan, moan. Must bum Wardle or summat.
