Coming in & going out this summer

Re: Coming in & going out this summer

Sissokho from Newcastle will be a good addition imo.

Yeah and they would rob us of £20M if we wanted him.
We could of got him for £2M if we had of got from toulouse in Jan.
We never get a player straight from a club we always seem to wait 1 club too late, we should be finding the Isco's, Cavani's, Sissoko's etc before they move to a bigger club and demand bigger £££

To be fair it's an advantage of being richer than everyone else and one we should use where we can. It's what the big boys have been doing for ages and it's one of the things that helps keep them at the top. You don't need to take a risk on Isco becoming the next Iniesta if you can just wait to see how he gets on and pay the premium to get him when he comes good. We don't have an indefinite amount of squad spaces so we can't buy up every half promising young talent.

Whatever happens this summer with ins and outs I think we need to make another big statement of intent to show we're here to stay. People could be forgiven after the last couple of transfer windows to think the owners are backing off a bit and maybe the project isn't as big as all the talk. Well they aren't and it is, so time to show it. Go and blow some heads off.

We were aware of Sissoko, we've been scouting him for years and there have been rumours surrounding him and City. Presumably we just didn't think he was good enough, he does look a real unit with big potential but will be interesting to see how he develops. There are other Yaya-esque midfielders out there like Obiang and Kondogbia, two others we're linked to, I have no idea which of them all is the best.

Tolmie I think said we got knocked back by Barcelona for this lad last summer:

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2301323/Manchester-United-want-Barcelona-midfielder-Thiago-Alcantara.html?ICO=most_read_module" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... ead_module</a>

Now he may be available. Would think he'd suit our style more than United's especially with what we're trying to build. Complications being poor relations between City and Barca.

We need (in order of importance):

A quality winger/attacking midfielder

Someone who can create and take the pressure off Silva, preferable a bit more direct and with a bit of pace.
Possibles: Isco, Mkhitaryan, Bale, Sanchez, Lamela
My choice: Di Maria

Quality in abundance, classy attacking play, good passer/crosser, good dribbler and very pacey too. He is one of (if not the) the best crossers in world football at the moment. His passing can unlock teams, whilst he can also take the pressure off of the fullbacks to get forward by offering a natural wide option.

A deep lying playmaker/central midfielder

Someone who can create from deep and someone with more mobility than Barry or Garcia.
Possibles: Kondogbia, Fellaini, Fernandinho, Khedira, De Rossi
My choice: Beñat

Brilliant passer of the ball, good agility and a decent size for a spaniard. His passing would be able to unlock defences when we are playing a Stoke or Villa where they have 10 men behind the ball, he would also help us keep possession in big games and in Europe. I believe he has a buy-out clause of around £17m, so would be a bargain for the natural successor to Alonso in the national team. Also he is a free kick specialist.

A top class centre forward

Someone who buries his chances more often than missing. Also be able to link up with our other players.
Possibles: Jovetic, Benzema, Cavani, Suarez, Higuain
My choice: Falcao

Best out and out striker in world football right now. His goal scoring ability is incredible, added to his fantastic build up play, hunger and creativity makes him a world-beater. His heading ability is second to none and he can certainly hit them from distance too. He is exactly the type of player we needed this season, in response to RVP at united. A big game changing goalscorer who frightens defences week in week out. If you want anyone on the end of an important chance, you would call on Falcao (after Messi that is).

Squad players

We may also need a couple of squad players to help replace any players that leave.
If Lescott leaves, we may need a new centre-back:
Possibles: Carvalho, Sakho, Mangala, N'Koulou, Radu
My choice: Zouma

If Sinclair leaves:
Possibles: Robinho, Weimann, Honda, Nene, Halilovic
My choice: Deulofeu

If Dzeko leaves:
Possibles: Benteke, Muriel, Icardi, Yilmaz, Lewandowski
My choice: David Villa

If Kolarov leaves:
Possibles: Digne, Cissokho, Baines, Adriano, Fuchs
My choice: Shaw

Most likely departures
Maicon, Lescott, Kolo, Wabara, McGivern, Bridge, Ibrahim, Barry, Sinclair, Nasri, Tevez, Santa Cruz, Scapuzzi

Leaving a squad of:

Hart, Pants, Wright
Zabaleta, Richards
Kompany, Nastasic, Zouma, Rekik
Clichy, Kolarov
Yaya, Benat, Garcia, Rodwell, Razak
Silva, Di Maria, Milner, Deulofeu
Falcao, Aguero, Dzeko, Guidetti

I'll bite, my views on outgoings and where we need to strengthen

Definitely leaving: RSC, Bridge, Kolo

Maybe leaving: Lescott, Maicon, Kolarov, Nasri? Tevez?

Slim chance of leaving: Dzeko

Positions:
RB: Fine with Micah & Zabba
LB: Fine with Clichy & Kolarov - if AK goes anyway then a young LB to understudy Clichy
CB: OK with Vinnie, Nasty, Lescott if we also bring in a top CB, if JL goes then add another young CB
Centre Mid: FFS Bobby, just put Milner there. Fine with Yaya, Barry, Garcia, Milner (Rodwell as backup). Garcia to get another season.....
Attacking Mid: Replacement for Nasri if he goes, maybe 1 more who can double as a striker/wide AM.
Wingers: Don't think BM likes wingers.......
Strikers: Awkward, if Tevez or Dzeko goes then a top striker needed. I'll be surprised if we signed another top striker if we keep Aguero, Tevez, Dzeko & Guidetti.

What we need:

World Class striker to replace Tevez/Dzeko.
For me that's Falcao, he's the best real striker in the world, he's absolutely magical.
He's a 30-40 goal a season striker.

3rd choice Striker (if both Dzeko and Tevez leave)
Someone young, cheap, fast and preferably someone who can play as a winger if need be.
I've got no ideas for this one, but I don't have an army of scouts at my disposal.

Attacking Midfielder/Winger to replace Nasri (unless he keeps playing like he did last night)
For me that's one of Isco, Reus, Di Maria or Bale.
Isco is my favourite as he'd probably be the cheapest, and he's Spanish so he would link up very well with David.
Reus would be my second choice but I can't see us getting him so there's no real point.
Bale is the best player I've listed but the price tag attached would be massive. Not sure Txiki would be fond of spending well over 50m on one player, when there are much cheaper options.

Either another Attacking Midfielder or a new Centre Mid (depending on whether or not Mancini will play Milner in Centre Mid).
Barry is really getting on now, and Garcia simply isn't good enough to start 90% of games for the Champions of England (we'll sing it 'till may). So we either need to get a new Centre Mid and keep playing Milner as a winger or get a new Attacking Mid/Winger and move Milner back to his natural position. I'd prefer the latter. Milner's work rate is exceptional and I don't want to see him on the bench. The only place he'll get a lot of game time would be next to Yaya.

Left Back to replace Kolarov.
For me this is between Luke Shaw, Baines and Lucas Digne.
Luke Shaw is very young, so he'll understand that he won't play most games. Clichy can run for hours and not get tires so we don't want someone who'll complain about not being played. Very good for his age and pretty quick.
Baines obviously would become first choice. His crossing would be perfect for Falcao if he comes in. I can't think of a better crosser of the ball than Leighton Baines. Knows how to take a free kick too.
Digne is for the same reason as Luke Shaw, young and talented.

A Centre Back to replace Lescott if he leaves.
Someone young would be the best choice for this, I'd pick Kurt Zouma.
Only 17 years old but, like Nastasic, he plays like he's much older. With a choice of centre backs from Kompany, Nasty, Zouma and Rekik I'd be very happy.

Players out:
Wright, Maicon, Lescott, Kolarov, Barry, Sinclair (unless Roberto will actually play him), Tevez, Dzeko

You're right about its a bonus of being rich, but FFP will be kicking in soon and we cant just keep waiting for players to move to test themselves in a tougher we need to take a risk imo and try them out ourselves for a fraction of the price we would have to pay for them from a bigger club.
Like Martinez who now plays for Porto, he done decent in mexico and now hes at porto, 31 goals in 34 games later hes being linked with lots of different clubs across europe including Barcelona for £20M+.
Should be widing our scouting area's and trying to find those rough diamonds / hidden gems in the footballing world?
