I totally agree. The 20 is plenty showed what can be achieved. The problem is how to organise it and who to organise it.
My beef isn't just with this match it is about the way all football is going. (Look at the fa cup proposals, killing a great tradition) Unfortunately, at present there is no concerted campaign and so little will be achieved.

The FA Cup has been dying on its feet and needs a total shake-up. This year's final was fantastic for obvious reasons. I am all for protecting ticket prices but not opposed to change and modernisation.

Sorry Paul but i wont be watching this friendly on tv. i have no bt sport, sky or other paid channels and never will. As far as going against my wishes, nobody wanted to go against the third reich and risk their lives, but they did because it was the right thing to do.

I'm not opposed to sensible change but I have always looked forward to the 3rd round, on the Saturday after the new year. Soon it will be a Wednesday, 'when we can fit it in' at 5.30 with the final after the 5.30 Saturday match. None of the changes will benefit the match going fan.

My biggest bugbear with modern football is the huge number of meaningless international fixtures against pub teams. We never had all these international breaks which are undermining club football and putting pressue on great competitions like the FA Cup. Fans suffer because of a greedy battle for revenues between the PL, UEFA, and FIFA. It is even possible the FA Cup might do better run by the PL because the PL has more clout than the FA.

Moving games to midweek and changing the final date isn’t modernisation - it’s all about greed and the premier league stamping its power over the FA. It’s working perfectly well as it is.

As this thread is about a boycott I will (re)state my case. When the Champs League goes to extra matches I'm out. All matches. After the Istanbul shite I nearly sacked it then. I am not going to another semi final at that congested shit hole and if either Wembley final means I can't do the train, I'm out. I tolerate 12.30pm kick offs, just, but if they start doing 7.45's on a Saturday or Sunday my ticket will be on the exchange. Those in charge, including City don't give a tuppeny fuck about us, to me this boycott is far more than a daft kick off time for a friendly.
