No consideration for City fans .
Time to send a message to the inconsiderate people running football.
Vote with your feet in a meaningless game.
Shame pg don't play the academy or send the womens team !

Doubt we would take 25k. How many did we take the other year v Leicester, last time we played CS at Wembley? Attendance was only 45k IIRC.
The Haaland and Grealish fan boys.
The treble winners will have a impact on the attendance especially with 1000's of fans being unable to get tickets for our last two finals. CTID

Wanted to check some numbers …

So visits to wembley since 2010 (incl this game, excl spurs league games):
City 24 (38% of all games)
Chelsea 20 (31%)
Arsenal 15 (23%)
United 14 (22%)
Liverpool 10 (16%)
Others 45 (max Spurs with 5 visits)

Visits to wembley since 2016 (ie since Pep):
City 16 (46% of all games)
Chelsea 14 (40%)
Arsenal 8 (23%)
United 8 (23%)
Liverpool 5 (14%)
Others 19 (max Leicester with 4 visits)

Chelsea been almost as many times as us, but its 30 mins and £5 return on the tube.

They won 5/5 fa cup semis so they are at max. We lost 4/6 of ours so we could have been as high as 20 (57% of games).

16 games. Twice as many as United and three times as many as Liverpool where people have to travel.

Even if it wasnt at a stupid time I’d still be struggling for motivation to go to this game given what it is and when it is given the volume of other previous visits and likely future visits.

Its just not *that* interesting anymore. I dont like travelling there and back, I hate the extortionate cost of food and drinks, I hate that tickets tend to cost a fortune etc etc.

Don’t agree with that. The Sheffield United game didn’t sell out and that was on a Saturday and a cup semi final

. We aren’t United or Liverpool. If 20,000 don’t go to the match we aren’t suddenly going to be replaced completely by tourists

If substantial numbers of city’s support don’t go it’s very noticeable in a ground like Wembley

It’s better to try and do something then just give up
It's noticeable yeah, it will be embarrassing for us as fans to deal with all the shite about no support.

You think the FA will make it better for us next time round. Will they bollocks.

If you've already committed to it then fair enough, i wouldn't want anyone to to lose anything. I'm disappointed by people who go regularly that don't support the boycott. But hold nothing against anyone. If you want change, you have to change what you do. It won't hurt the fa financially but there publicity might.

The real win is if the fan groups could see whether anyone from arsenal would support the boycott. Fans coming together. I get that it's a long shot but actually there are some issues that fans can get behind together.

The club hasn't got a great track record of fighting the corner for us recently, here's another opportunity for them to show they ever so slightly have our backs.

Let’s take 7000 to the charity sheild and 70000 to the champions league final there.

Love the idea of a boycott. Wasn't going anyway (cup semis and community shield at Wembley is a no for me), but hope this gets overwhelming support.

Will definitely participate in something in Manchester for charity.

Imagine social media will be full of "how will we tell the difference", "you should boycott your ownership" type comments, but fuck them. They're all too thick to realise this is something that affects them as well and they should be getting behind it.

The problem is it’s only a select few fan bases it affects. So the overwhelming majority of clubs won’t care or say fair play to city fans standing up to this. Even the cup semifinal a lot of clubs be buzzing to go to Wembley for it.

As I said previously the more clubs boycott or just don’t sell out their allocation of the community shield the more likely the game is going to be shipped out overseas

I only live 45 minutes away by train (assuming they don't strike again), and I wasn't going to go anyway, this game shouldn't be at wembley in the first plave, it should be a nuetral venue, half way between, even though that wouldn't benefit me personally.

I hope as many boycott it as possible, I also hope they don't give the unused tickets to arsenal.

Most of those who are going are letting the rest of us down IMO (save those who may have promised kids, booked hotels they can't get out of) - we need to make a proper statement, going just enables them to keep taking the piss, year after year.
Nobody is letting anyone down. Everyone is free to go to whatever games they choose to or to choose not to. As far as I’m concerned nobody has explained why this community shield is different to the last one, or different to going to Athens on a Wednesday night for the UEFA version of the Community shield, why no statement or boycott for that or does that sound like a good trip we don’t want to miss out on.

You say free world, I say there should be solidarity with the majority who are trying to make a statement to make a difference in the long term.

Exactly. There are no tickets that have been purchased yet, and hopefully most hotel bookings and travel costs will be refundable. Doing this now is for the greater good of football, and any loses incurred now will hopefully be recouped for years to come, but only by collective strength can we make the FA take note!

Fuck right off mate. I'll go to any game I want to.

The FA don't give a shit. You think this will make a difference? You live in a dream world.

But then we probably should have boycotted the Champs lge final then based on our relationship with UEFA, the fully expected debacle surrounding travel and choice of venue. Lets face it a lot, including myself, cannot be bothered going to this. Its a convenient boycott for a game many cannot be bothered with. If others want to go and enjoy the experience, good on them.

If it’s the majority ,most won’t go. Think you’ll find it’s not the majority though and plenty will go.
