Hurting the players? Please!

What about hurting the fans?

I’m sure the players will be OK. They’ll understand why the game is being boycotted.

There will be a large City following the week after in Athens. The players will appreciate that more.
Why are you boycotting a game played in London on a Sunday evening , but not a game between City and a Spanish team played in Athens on a Wednesday night ?

Eventually it will be played in America or the Middle East. Let’s see how many of you go to that game. ;-)

The people making a song and dance about it are the people who are arguing why we should go. I’ve made my mind up. Not going. No song and dance. Those of you who are going, have a nice day.
That’s fine you’ve decided it’s not for you , but why call it a boycott many will want to go and be looking forward to it .

If you need to ask that question.(here we go, blueparrot trench warfare)

I’m not going. Can’t get the time off work.

First away match is Burnley away. Why am I going to that one?

A lot of people will still buy tickets and that’s fine, it’s their personal choice. But if City gets an allocation of (say) 30,000 tickets and has to return 25,000 it will be hugely embarrassing for the Club and the FA.

This game should be played on Saturday at 3pm, just like the FA Cup should be, and the FA needs to stop pandering, or selling out, to the TV companies.
No tickets will be returned. Instead we will be surrounded by tourists who have bought a cityzens card the day before.

Boycotts don't work. The club don't give a shit and the FA don't give a shit.

So one is a boycott the other isn’t, mixed messages.

Don’t agree with that. The Sheffield United game didn’t sell out and that was on a Saturday and a cup semi final

. We aren’t United or Liverpool. If 20,000 don’t go to the match we aren’t suddenly going to be replaced completely by tourists

If substantial numbers of city’s support don’t go it’s very noticeable in a ground like Wembley

It’s better to try and do something then just give up

FFS! Have you read the thread? I give up. Stop wasting my time.

PS.

I didn’t call it a boycott. The word boycott was already mentioned before I started posting on the thread.

It’s times like this I wish I was back on Nevizade Street. :-)

Make it up as you go along. Now I’m going to get bogged down with you.(again)

I not going and boycotting the game. End of. :-) Glad I finally sorted that out for you.

Moving on.

This is the reason fans across the UK not just us get shafted by the FA, Prem, EFL and TV companies constanly

this "it is what it is so just accept it" attitude lets them off the hook.

On an aside

Any northern team should boycott it and the semis and collectively fans groups should start working together to say enough of the piss talking, it's quite sad that banter and rivalry goes before calling out those taking the piss like ITV
Completely agree. It's time to stand up to them. Any City fan who buys a ticket for this is letting fans of all clubs down. We are in an ideal position where this nonsense shield means nothing and even the Wembley experience has become utter Groundhog. It's a no brainer, will save you money and hassle, and might just sort this issue out for good!

In short, DO NOT BUY TICKETS FOR THIS GAME.

Apologies .

Just to clarify.

Being honest.

Boycott or not, Saturday or Sunday, I wouldn’t have gone.

At least my ticket would have gone to another City fan.

The FA can fuck right off with this one.
Cheap train fairs - non-existant. I've checked
Road travel not cheap either.
Time home - fucking rediculous.

I’m hearing city are going to reintroduce loyalty points a one off for this game to counteract the boycott

Please don't start with this any City fan wants to go hope they have a great day out they ain't letting anyone down, if any City fan don't want to go that's fine as well.

Are you saying the Joan Gamper wasn’t special?
We took a huge following to Barca for that and it remains one of my top three European away trips. Who could forget Richard Dunne collecting his only trophy in front of a gutted Zlatan and Messi! Actually their fans were genuinely upset because they hold this fixture in high respect. The attendance was more than 96,000!
