Community Shield

Hopefully we will play better then last years, but like most people said its a friendly isn't really classed as a major title and the club doesn't get money for winning it.

Still would be nice to kick start the season off with some silverware but I wouldn't be to down hearted if we lost just as long as I'm wasted at kick off and at full time!

Last season I treated it as a friendly, a win would have been nice but even though I wasn't happy at losing to the rags in the way we did I knew it didn't really matter.

Even the rags weren't that fussed. Walking back down Wembley way you'd have thought to come from 2 down at HT to win would have them making a right racket.

This season it'll be the first game I can get to so after a long long summer break I can't wait. If we played this mid season I'd be watching from home.

We should take it seriously. What if Chelsea dish out a 'football lesson' to us?

Hang on a minute... I recall Wooney saying we were given a football lesson just over 12 months ago. However, a few months later they were given an absolute masterclass in their own back yard. The rest is history, as they say.

Opportunity to see new players, a trophy and get pissed up!

Wasn't heartbroken we got beat last year and I wouldn't be if we did this year.

The league, FA Cup, Champions League is where our attentions turn to.

It has a little significance, in that it's the last pre-season friendly, so you expect a full tempo game and the manager will play his strongest team. Not much different to the old Thomas
Cook trophy, really. A bit higher profile so a bit more pride involved.

In terms of the result/trophy, on an 'importance' scale of 1 to 100, if the champions league is 100, the FA Cup 50 and the carling cup 30, it might rank a 3.

Not been to Villa Park since 81 semi final so looking forward to it, if we lose will be more worried about stick I will get from rent boy fans in work more than the fact of losing
