Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

The club is perceived by many fan's as being weak when it comes to fighting our corner with the media. They have more power and money than we could ever have to do something yet appear to do nothing but keep on taking the punches. It is like a bullied kid in the playground hoping if he is nice to the bully he will stop slapping him about and nicking his dinner money. He won't.

You're missing the point mate.

The club employ(at great expense) a team of people whose jobs are to ensure the Manchester City brand is represented correctly in the media.

That's their jobs. Not the fans. It's their job.

So when BBC do this, they are efffectively saying "we feel we can do whatever we like with the Manchester City brand and represent it in any context we like...even if it means laughing at their fans individually".

So even if our absolutely inept communications team arent decent enough to stand up for a money paying fan, they should be standing up for the brand in their professional capacity.
I think our PR team are Rags and Beeb Infiltrator's, there is no other explanation. They will never get another job in PR that's for sure, unless Max Clifford decides to reopen.

I'm sure there are elements of the BBC sport department (some bitter Rag's fan in charge of their online content??) who are doing this kind of thing on purpose to wind up City fans and provoke a reaction. Yesterday, the top story on the City page of the BBC Sport website was the Rag's win against Leicester. In isolation a mistake, but it happens all too often. If it isn't on purpose then it is grossly incompetent at best.

I actually used to trust the BBC, but there is something going on with them that I am all together not comfortable with. They have a definite agenda against City and it stinks.

Driving to the match on Sunday, listening to 5live, and, in anticipation of the team news at 1230, the presenter (whose name I've forgotten) announced "team news from the Etihad in 90 seconds"

90 seconds later, the BBC announce that Aguero is on the bench and Jesus starts.
Not a single mention of any of the other 21 players starting.

By the time we got out of the car at 1255, they again suggested "we'll shortly have team news from the Etihad".

In the intervening 25 minutes, they'd covered everything from fly-fishing to the colour of Will Carlings jockstrap without bothering about the ONLY team news they could have given.

Shysters. Complete and utter.

How likely is it that the Beeb are going to become a non funded (through the licence fee) normal commercial media entity soon?
It seems they're taking a step towards joining the rest of the gutter press by pandering to the mouth breathing masses.
Anyway this **** is always having a sly dig at us

Ugly big nosed ****!!!!!! No wonder he likes Rashford, Lingard and Ibrahimovic.

What's his address? Enough is enough...

Can you remember what colour they said it was ?

Poor Pete, I hope these complaints to what is rapidly becoming an organisation steeped in political,
and now, sporting bias, take root.
I'd love Trevor Sinclair to announce, ''I'm due on the BBC's Rag loving Match of the Day on Saturday.''

Complaint lodged. I await their reply.

On today's Facebook front page you have shown a photograph of a Manchester City fan. The banner headline refers to ""we salute you Bertie". His name is not Bertie, as you must well know, it is Pete Green. Pete has been around for over 50 years as a fan both home and away, domestically and abroad. He is a much loved legendary figure at the club. Everyone stops and talk to Pete, there is not a single bad bone in his body. Pete has learning difficulties that he battles with on an everyday occurrence. Despite that he enjoys life to the full. I know full well your reasons to mock Pete. It's because he. Is not a precious Man Utd fan, therefore he is game. You must know that the name "Bertie", is the mocking name that United fans have for City. It goes back many years to when City could not compete on the field with the financial wealth United had. Every Other football fan in the country knows that the BBC have jumped into the Old Trafford bed. Your sickening bending at the knee to every United angle is truly sycophantic. The BBC charter declares truth delivered without fear or favour. Well when it comes to your costing up to United it certainly does not. This debasing of a gentle and sweet man deserves your respect, not your ridicule ( or banter as you probably see it). BBC are now insulting vulnerable middle aged people. Shame on you. Some City fans use the name "rag" when referring to United fans. So either I expect a public apology for this insulting article, or will you, seek out a similarly disabled, less advantaged vulnerable United fan to photograph, put onto your facebook and refer to him as " a rag", to redress the imbalance ?.

That is beyond disgusting what the BBC have done. Well done and good luck to both and nefynblue and PB in getting a reply and a response but it will fall on deaf ears. They are another institutionalised bunch of ****s.

Top work mate.

Fuck complaints. I've emailed the head of Sport, Barbara Slater and copied in Simon Heggie at the club.

Well said PB. Although I would have emailed it a few BBC hating journos too. The BBC have some powerful enemies and if they see them acting like a regular ratings grabbing station, thus breaking their own charter, they would have a field day.

Journalism is only going to get worse as the Internet takes over. You're going to get less journalists working for papers, and therefore more coverage of the "big" clubs and mockery of Public Enemy to chase the Man Utd and Arsenal £££

I thought it would get better for City as we joined the big boys, but it's more hostile than ever. Nothing much can be done other than to fight your corner.

The Biased Broadcasting Company! This shit must go right to the top of their sports programmes as whatever is put out there must have to be vetted and agreed by an editor. I guess there must be a press complaints commission that can be complained to as well?

I also lodged a complaint but not perhaps worded as eloquently as Nefynblue. I have seen Pete on many occasions and quite frankly feel immensely proud that we have a fan that has no issue in showing his complete loyalty to the club wearing his colours to all the games, with no worries about getting harassment from neighbouring fans. How dare some small minded person take a cheap shot at one of our own on a national forum who deem themselves to be 'unbiased' WHAT????? . I hope this gets brought to the attention of Points of View on a Sunday and we get a voice??? Or perhaps not ....

Martin Samuel at the Mail appears to be one journalist who has some sympathy for us perhaps he may be interested in the story? At a time when clubs and the media are moaning about the lack of atmosphere and how to improve it, they choose to mock one of the great characters out there. Shame on them, not that they know the meaning of the word!
