Complaint to BBC regarding Pete the Badge

Journo's struggle to get away with making stuff up these days. Photo sources are relatively easy to track down through the metadata and you can always tell when someone has tried to cover their tracks. They are happy to try and get as much internet coverage which is also a problem because everything leaves a trace. If those 2 pictures are one and the same then the scumbag at the BBC are bang to rights.

Oh I made sure to keep it:

On a slightly different note, I recall in the dim and distant past walking down the very dark, dismal and dank main road outside Upton Park. I was keeping my head down as a rather large and somewhat moody array of West Ham gathered to take out anyone who may have been a City fan. I’d met Pete a few weeks earlier at Spurs and whilst I would never dismiss the handshake of a fellow blue, having him barrel up next to me at West Ham and start patting me on the back whilst dressed in his full regalia was not quite what I needed at that point. Me and me mates used to take great enjoyment in asking Pete the time and then watch him check his sky blue Casio watch, before cracking up at the sheer fucking dedication of the bloke.

Clearly taking the piss, not sure how they can claim they aren't
Once upon a time, the nice gentle BBC received a photo of a City fan with the title 'Bertie' and so as a lovely gesture to celebrate this chap's passion, they posted it on social media. But then a nasty monster called Prestwich Blue started terrorising the BBC. He was killed by boredom after constant flat out denials. And they all lived happily ever after.

Imagine a photo of a United fan with the caption "Rag we salute you"

Is that the response?
My immediate thought is that it is quite possible that the agency have a utd fan who'd tagged it "Bertie" in the agency archives, and it got taken on. There's no way to disprove that.
It's equally possible that it's some prat at Salford Towers who thought it was funny to write the caption.

The absolute most you'd expect is what they've done - apologise and remove. In no right thinking world should something like that involve anything more that we hear about - if it's a BBC employee doing it, that's for them to deal with in house.

I got word for word exact same response no wonder they can respond so quick they just cut and paste to all who complain
