Clearly taking the piss, not sure how they can claim they aren't
Once upon a time, the nice gentle BBC received a photo of a City fan with the title 'Bertie' and so as a lovely gesture to celebrate this chap's passion, they posted it on social media. But then a nasty monster called Prestwich Blue started terrorising the BBC. He was killed by boredom after constant flat out denials. And they all lived happily ever after.Clearly taking the piss, not sure how they can claim they aren't

?Imagine a photo of a United fan with the caption "Rag we salute you"
Is that the response?
My immediate thought is that it is quite possible that the agency have a utd fan who'd tagged it "Bertie" in the agency archives, and it got taken on. There's no way to disprove that.
It's equally possible that it's some prat at Salford Towers who thought it was funny to write the caption.
The absolute most you'd expect is what they've done - apologise and remove. In no right thinking world should something like that involve anything more that we hear about - if it's a BBC employee doing it, that's for them to deal with in house.
