Nothing, hence why we should vote no.

Oh, and why the fuck should people who are on the Council/Government be exempt from the charge? And why should they or their families be allowed to vote if they won't pay anyway?

The whole charge stinks of corruption and lies, right down the the 'neutral' ballot paper having "Vote Yes" propoganda on it.
 
I see the voting process was interestingly complicated, with two cards (one barcoded I see) two envelopes, one inside the other, barcode facing out, not to be folded!!!!! WHAT encouraging people not to vote...surely not!!! The various middle of the road, do fuck all, party's have done well out of people not voting during the last few decades. I bet the council are just hoping Jo average doesnt vote cos he/she would be the ones most likely to say a big NO. As for students voting...how come they have a say but most wont hang around afterwards to live with the financial consiquences of this scam, they'll fuck off back to mummy and daddy's in Surry while the people of Manchester get to pay to drive on roads they have already payed for?!!

It really does take the p*ss that students, 99% of whom will be back at home in Surrey by the time 2013 and the charge come along, are allowed to vote on this. They won't be remotely affected by the proposals.

I am from Bolton and the reason we are getting a vote is because like me, many people from Bolton work in Manchester and actively contribute to the local economy (tubby b@stards like me keep the pie shops of Trafford park afloat). I wouldn't have a problem using public transport if it was any good but for some reason Trafford park is the land that transport planners forgot and it takes 2 1/2 hours to get to work in time.

Also I read the website about what transport improvements Bolton will get, reading between the lines, I think they are going to put a new bench at Hall'i'th wood train station. I am not paying £5 a day for a bench at a trainstation that no-one uses.

I got my ballot paper yesterday and will be putting my cross squarely in the NO box, just a little dissapointed there wasn't a box for "get f*cked"

Far more people from Cheshire commute into Manchester than the northern regions yet the vote doesn't go past Bramhall. I'm in SK12, I don't get a vote.

I agree, you should get a vote. I think this is another issue that I don't think they have considerred. People regularly commute in from all over the North west and will be paying for improvements (?!?!) that they will never use.

That pisses me off as most of them will fuck of back down south when they finish their degrees.
