If Russia have proven anything, it's that conscripted armies are shit.

Most armies in large wars are conscripted, this has always been the case when a country mobilises.

If Russia is THAT shit we wont need to fully mobilise and we could get by with adding a few thousand professionals to the list.

It's not just Russia that proves it. Famously the US used 50,000 rounds of ammunition during the Vietnam war for every enemy killed. Conscripts go through the motions of fighting, but ultimately don't want to be there and don't want to kill. This is a good video on the topic...



I think conscription is different when it's defending your homeland, like the Ukrainians now, of course.

I don't believe in going to war over anything other than an actual invasion of this country, however stats wont change the fact that if a country mobilises for a large conflict they use conscripts.

If WW3 lands hiding under the stairs wont help anyone.

Well obviously. But Russia aren't starting WW3 any time soon. They can barely manage the one war they've got going at the moment, and we've got a huge alliance of the most advanced professional militaries on the planet.

Which is why it will never happen and people have no need to worry, the Russian Bear (More of a pussycat if reports are to be believed) hasn't got that type of fight in it.

If we need to do it, then I will be there.

Tried joining the army when i was 17, but I bottled it. Tried the reserves a few years ago but was advised I had to be off a certain medication before I could attempt again.

At what point does it become your problem?

When Russia is invading Poland, Germany, the UK, your village, your street, your house.

At some point it becomes your problem dickhead.

I thought it was NATO policy to go nuclear once the Russians crossed the Rhine?
In which case we’ll all be smoking nuclear cinders before they get to the channel.

Judging by many posts on the Russian/Ukraine thread there isn't a Russian left alive mate. We are told that most of their equipment is a bit shit and their soldiers suffer with very low moral, not a great combination.

What they do have is a weapon that will make the sky go orange.
