Can you imagine if you had mobile phones, social media and 24 hour news back then.

Watching all our lads get sent over the top just be be cattle to the slaughter.

There would have been riots on the streets let alone protests. Many of that generation would have would have been left with so much discontent for those in power at the time, you could and probably would have seen putsch attempts.

Aye, and add to that people who never had to do National Service saying we need to bring it back because 'kids these days...'
