Contact lost with Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777

Apparently it's on the same frequency as black boxes transmit, so it's promising.

However, the last few weeks have all been about flying planes over the site. Then in the last day or so the media reported they were going to started using these signal detectors and a day or so later they pick up a signal.

Surely these detectors have been in the sea for the last few weeks already??

The signals are the frequency used by the plane and black box
I should imagine it is very different to anything else in the ocean

I think China are calling everyone's bluff on this. The Yanks are pulling all the 'experts' out saying it's unlikely they have found it in the Indian Ocean.

I've spent a lot of time over the last few weeks on google earth and despite having a 32" monitor connected to my computer I have seen nothing only blue sea.

Fully agree with this. It is being used for political one upmanship by China to try to embarrass everyone else, how can you announce this "finding" by a tweet on a website. Not respectful or correct.
