What I can't get my head round is this: if that was the intention, why play your cards when we are at our highest league position for decades? Unless City leaked it at that point to strengthen their hand?

That's exactly the time to play it if you think that Tevez is the top scorer by miles and would be perceived as the main reason why we're in that position. In other words, it's a threat: dance to our tune or we can take this fantastic league position away again.

Why? They may well not be, but this 'incident' says nothing about that one way or the other.

When your star player and captain hands a transfer request in, unless it's about cash, then there's not really any other way to read it.

Are you sure as I still think Cook after kooking after Michael Jordan for so long is just desperate for somebody with a high profile. He spent many years promoting Jordan for Nike and I think Cook wants a similar figure.

I'm pretty sure that it was Kia who leaked it to Ashton from the NOTW and not City. Why would City leak it to him when he's banned from the club?

So what can you tell us about the Dzeko buyout clause ?? Are you privy to something the rest of us don`t know ?

I can tell you what he meant, and I'm not even close to being ITK. He meant the story that the club let Dzeko's minimum fee run down as they thought Wolfsburg could be brow-beaten into selling him for less, when actually they just instantly raised his fee to £50m and stymied us.

I'm not so sure about that. From all the stories that float around, and the videos you see of Cook and Khaldoon, and a load of other stuff, I reckon that Garry Cook actually tries to speak with the players quite often.

I still think Joorabchian is behind all this though.

Yes he wanted to leave last summer and we persuaded him to stay. I don't buy the family reasons either... Tevez (or should I say KIA) left a little threat in the statement they released, so the ball is in Citys court and we're waiting for the next move.

The way forward:

Fuck kia, Fuck tevez and Fuck real madrid.

Show them they have picked on the wrong team.

He cost £35 million when he had feck all contract left. Since then he has scored more goals than ever before so his value with 3.5 years left must be around £100 million.

There's the starting point for negotiations you twats. Your move.

Tevez we expect to see you on the training ground or you'll be hearing from our lawyers. You may get picked or you may play in the rezzies. Depends on your commitment level and Roverto's judgement. We're not bothered really.

You can of course 'retire' but any termination and compensation agreement will include massive financial penalties if you then join another club in Europe. I'd say about £100 million should cover it. Plus of course we'll need repayment on the erst of the contract and investment to date.
