COP26

All we can do is switch ourselves to renewables or nuclear and sleep easy in our bed knowing we did what we could anyway.
so we'll carry on pissing into the wind then, fantastic, all hail Boris the emperor

At COP26, Green Zone events are where the public can attend - vaccine passports are required.
COP26 Blue Zone events are where the world leaders and key corporate delegates will be congregating - and they are exempt from vaccine passports.

Just keep remembering, we’re all in this together and vaccine passports are a great idea….

Shouldn't this be an online only event?

I've managed at work to attend virtual conferences and they work fine.

Pathetic that high society and world leaders will use private jets to attend COP26 to then tell us we should avoid air travel...

Prince Charles indicating "we" need to change our lifestyles.

The big eared c*nt travels by helicopter most days abd drives land rovers. I fly maybe twice a year if that.

That's some sacrifice there fella. You're like a male Erin Brockavich

Well "fella", I'm just highlighting the hypocrisy of the elite telling the nation what they should and shouldn't do.

No probs "fella" the plane thing made me giggle nothing personal in it.

While I don't agree with but Greta got on a plane bollocks often spouted I think you are on solid ground with Charles his helicopter and the Chelsea tractor.

What's the other solution because blaming the government does not reduce Co2 emissions.

On COP26 I don't see any urgent action, all we'll get is a bunch of arbitrary meaningless targets set by very rich and powerful hefty Co2 emitting people. None of them are going to change their behaviour so what are the chances of poorer people doing so who don't have the luxury of picking more expensive green options?

This is a long one but it's a very good documentary showing how modern renewables, technology and the green movement generally is just a complete joke. We aren't going to solve anything anytime soon and that's just us, forget China and other countries where it's 10x worse.

Unfortunately you cannot get around the mathematical and logical certainty which is nothing is going to get better before it gets far worse and apparently we don't have time for that.

1 minute to midnight eh Doris? Says man who allows new fracking sites in Lincolnshire, new oil wells in Yorkshire and coal mines in Cumbria. Then signs deals that will allow us to import meat from half way around the world when we produce it on our doorstep. This, everyone, is the 'leader' at COP26.

If we really are in a crisis, could this not have been done over video conference?

Do as I say and not as I do...

Ask yourself though why we import meat from around the world, it's because you and I want that cheap meat. Everyone has a choice to buy locally but very few actually do it. Consumerism demands a race to the bottom and alongside that we want a growing country which means pay rises to spend on as much cheap stuff as possible. The environmental impact of this way of thinking is huge.

How many people shop in Primark? Loads I imagine, but no-one is arsed that the clothes they're buying are imported from sweat shops in Asia thousands of miles away. How many of the so called most environmentally aware generation shop in fast fashion places like Zara? Loads and do they care about their impact? Not a single bit.

We only have one choice here, we can ban these imports from Primark and other retailers and then force them to source more ethically nearer to home but the clothes will cost people £20 instead of £5... It's not going to be a vote winner is it?

First rule of comedy is timing.

Liz Truss calls on world leaders to “step up” on tackling climate change, before refusing to say whether the UK will allow drilling of the Cambo oilfield and the construction of a new coal mine in Cumbria’

The irony is that those that voted for him won’t be embarrassed in the slightest. They like having a buffoon as PM.

The issue is because everyone focuses on him being a buffoon, people ignore or are oblivious to the very real and lasting damages he’s making to some of our core principles and processes.
