Corners

I dismissed this issue a few weeks back as nowt to worry about but it really is. We are a big side and set pieces should be something we dominate against most teams yet last night again, we cant get a head on our corners and when the opposition have one, they are always first to it and causing us issues.

Desire. Its about the desire to get in there where you can get hurt and sadly, we have players just not willing.

too many times the quality of the corner is very poor and not even clearing the first man

We don't have dead ball specialist anyone who fancies it takes the corners surly one of our players can be out dead ball specialist

with the quality players we have we should have at least a couple who can put a decent corner in.

I imagine this has already been said, but our corner taking against Barca was actually pretty good, in any case better than it's been for a long time. If dzeko gets that goal it very probably changes the dynamic of the match. Noticed that Barca were playing all their corners short. That makes sense if you're a brilliant short-ball playing team, and you've got nobody big to put in the box. My conclusion is that unless we're playing Dzeko (or Bony) we should probably be playing short corners (Silva to Nasri, or vice versa, on a very quick one-two) most of the time.

Silva to Nasri to Joe Hart

Kick it out for a throw in, box them in, central defenders don't have to keep running up and down the pitch, jobs a good 'un

Has Kolarov taken many corners lately?

Always had the impression he'd be good at them. Milner too.

What about Yaya? He never really scores any headers and is technically excellent.
