You’re both cheeks of the same arse mate and they fucking stink so I wouldn’t be trying to claim some moral high ground on songs sung tbh.
Here’s the thing
@blueinsa I don’t have any fondness for The Pope or The Vatican either. Seriously. Don’t get me started on it. I have a brother who is a priest and let’s just say, he is slightly…. estranged, let’s say.
I have been known to lay into the Vatican and it’s history from time to time.
But you are talking about Glaswegian Jocks being two cheeks of the same arse.
By definition that leaves us and our troubles and biases over here in the same pair of keks or worse.
Moral high ground?
Get over yourself.
As I said, I have no time for either Popery or Monarchy and I’ll wager that the vast majority on this island think the same.
What a great number of royalists don’t seem to get in Britain is that they are the other cheek of the same arse.
This is the 21st century.
If you want a diatribe on the history of where this politico-religious divide came from I’ll oblige, but you may be surprised at where it all stems from and shouldn’t be surprised at the fact that some people see the monarchy as just a means by the now ruling classes to keep a good thing going, regardless of the fact it is long since out dated.
Given the strength of conviction of what I would consider honest working classes in Britain, really decent people. Our friends, families and neighbours, I’m amazed at how long the country has been duped by those that consider themselves your betters and have absolutely zero consideration for you.
