Great news on the MHRA approving the Monoclonal Antibody treatment Ronapreve

Trump (I know, I know..) had monoclonal antibody treatment when he had covid.

As an old obese guy who ended up in hospital it seemed to sort him out pretty swift.

This is only one anecdotal example but looks promising.

AstraZeneca to seek approval for covid antibody cocktail..finally more treatments coming online...much needed..this reported in the FT good read
Wouldn't be surprised if they and the other vaccine producers also announce ,in the coming months,an updated vaccine that provides greater protection against the delta variant.

What a
I mean, I'm past caring, but what the fucking fuck?

Right Said Fred frontman Richard Fairbrass hospitalised with Covid-19 but is still refusing to get vaccine’

What's an absolute ****, I bet if he'd caught AIDS in the mid 80's on he would have volunteered for the experimental drugs to keep him alive, as a gay guy he would have been susceptible.

All the stats look bad. Rising cases, hospital admissions and deaths and we are in August.

We really need to re-vaccinate but first step is to identify the vaccine we're going to use. This has to happen quickly. I think the R rate is only just above 1 but the situation seems to me to be slowly deteriorating in the UK and imo it will only accelerate.

The only thing that is going to prevent another wave is vaccination ( and that will be very effective imo, although to avoid regular vaccination it would be ideal to get more specific vaccines).

IMO the government needs to have a public awareness campaign now and say to people look in September or October we are going to vaccinate again. We're very confident that that will have a decisive effect and see us through the Winter, but between now and then we need you to wear masks in public indoor spaces.

We just need to get these infections on a downward trajectory. I don't think it needs much but remember in a few days, schools re-open, universities re-open that will cause problems.

Don't wish to be alarmist. All I want is for the football to carry on and normality to carry on as much as possible. A gentle public reminder of what needs to be done in order that we can carry on. If we don't I fear another wave of more serious restrictions.

lots of people in the centre especially very young teenagers.

Today I had the 2nd jab pfizer and waiting for a reaction but nothing so far, my first jab was Astra Zeneca… Anyway love you all if I don’t get back
Where was that? You shouldn’t have had Pfizer if you had AZ first, according to all the JVCI guidelines anyway.

It’s the 10% of anti vaxxers who have helped to keep the Delta in circulation. I can’t see a solution there as they are now all Right Said Fred fans. Having the 16 and 17 year olds vaccinated will help a bit
