Broadly agree that it's nice. Though I can't deny that the thought of a holiday in Blackpool is depressing as fuck. It's an absolute dive. A truly miserable thought if that's our option ha.
We took our daughter a couple of years ago for her first Blackpool visit! I hadn’t been for years and thought a day out by the sea etc would be just the job. She was asking to go home within 2 hrs and said. “can we just stick with Portugal next time”

I think when the government were talking about 17 May, they didn’t expect Europe to be hitting a third wave and be way behind on vaccines. I really do think it’s unlikely that in less than 2 months time, people will be going on foreign holidays.

Almost every memory I have of Blackpool, indeed most holidays in the UK, the weather was bloody awful. After the first lockdown eased we went for a drive there as a family for a day out and although it was nice to spend some time together the place was even more depressing than I remembered. Loads of undesirable types knocking around too that looked like they'd slit your throat for the loose change in your pocket.

When everywhere is open though some of the hotel's have some cracking entertainment on, the Lynden had three artists on at a weekend.

In general my view of holidays in the UK is overpriced verging on a blatant rip off, poor service and completely unreliable weather. After the misery of this lockdown though it will probably seem like paradise.
