For a start, who the fuck wants an ice cream in this weather?

I've closed my coffee shop, our thinking we don't want t encourage non essential shopping, though takeaway is a loop hole we've been told not to look for. Hopefully todays announcement of grants will persuade those staying open to close. I mean how many ice creams can they be selling, in January in Ayrshire.

It's a very very good ice cream shop to be fair, and very well known throughout the town and wider area. But I digress, surely the owner needs to take personal responsibility in such a situation or surely the Scottish government should be stepping in?

I'd like to see Zahawi ( Vaccines Minister) or his boss Hancock at the press conference tonight to explain the vacine roll out programme - what is the plan, what are the difficulties and uncertainties, what are the timescales( aspirational, realistic, worse case).
I think the public would appreciate a degree of honesty and clarity on this.
The Govt have had enough time to work on it so they should share the details of the plan with the public.
If not tonight then a commitment from BoJo to give details to the House or in a future presser to be held soon.
Agree with this.

We have something similar here. I live near Hollingworth Lake and the chippy there is doing a roaring trade today. Yes its food and yes its a takeaway so can't really argue with them being open on those grounds but really, is it absolutely necessary for people to stand in a queue at least a dozen people long on a Tuesday lunchtime to get some fish and chips???
Hollingworth Lake is an odd one. I drive past to visit my daughter in Walsden and there are always queues for chips, coffees, take aways. I think people think they are on holiday!

Hopefully when they've given a few million doses without incident they can get rid of this as it's the biggest reason GP offices can't do the vaccine - they don't have 2 waiting rooms or the space to keep people for 15 minutes.
They wont stop it , everyone reacts different and the insurance has to be covered

More detail on the 582 England hospital deaths.

By age: 6 (aged 20 - 39), 32 (aged 40 - 59), 207 (aged 60 - 79) and 337 (aged 80 +)

By region London 120, NW 109, Midlands 97, East 86, South East 77, NE/Yorks 66, South West 27

In the NW hospitals the most were 27 in East Lancashire, 12 in Bolton and 11 in Manchester.

Local ice cream shop has just announced on social media how delighted they are to still be open and all the measures they have in place bla bla bla.

Frustrating as fuck yet there's nothing I or anyone can do unless the government step in and specifically tell them they have to shut.

Just one example of many businesses finding loopholes to keep their doors open. Food = essential. Ice cream, fuck off. Take some personal responsibility and we might get out of this mess.
I know you're tough up there with the cold weather but ice cream in January?....can't see them getting many people to actually infect.

I do agree with you, 'essential' has been used very loosely all year and should be stamped down on everywhere.

I have now frankly had enough of all this, I will be putting my name forward to issue vaccines as soon as possible, my daughter who is 8 years old was in tears this morning, this incompetent government has to be held accountable after this, they are chasing fires and that’s not the way you put them out. Why the fuck in the last 9 months have the not done any forward planning, they knew when a vaccine came along they would need tens of thousands of people to give these injections, they had all this time to train people so when the time came they could just be called up to do it.
The military now has to take centre stage on this just for their organisational skills, take it away from the dithering civilians and get this fucking done, oh and any twat braking rules now gets sent down for me and named and shamed in the press, the time for pussy footing about had to end I’m sick to fucking death of it.
To top all this off I had to do Just Dance 2020 with my 8 year old as apart of her home schooling routine for exercise, I’m 51 for fucks sake!
Most of the military medical staff already work in the NHS to keep skills up to date in A&E etc so the idea that there is some untapped cohort of medics ready to be deployed is a bit of a myth

at the end of the day it is the trained medical people we need now not just squaddies being menacing in Land Rovers up and down the country

Agreed, and I tink that's all people ever want. Clarity and honesty. We've not had a lot of that and its damaging.
