Moderna have started their trial on their variant vaccine.
At the moment Covid is surging across the world but at last vaccine supply is beginning to become more visible. What were national governments doing for the 12 months that it took to develop the vaccines?
It seems to me that the same variants keep arising independently across the world which is quite encouraging because it means that the number of viable forms of the virus is limited and its predicable but its mutation of the existing variants that could create a problem. I particularly do not like the look of that surge in India given that a couple of months ago there was evidence that they were close to herd immunity in some cities.
