Advice I saw was that if you've had first dose then you should receive second dose? Potential is much lower if you've already had the first dose.
I understand that but I know from my annual chats with my GP that taking HRT increases risk of blood clots as we regularly consider dosage changes. So I have that to take into account too.

I am pretty sure we will be able to have mixture of vaccines before the autumn as a third jab is being touted and there may not be multiple updated ones. Hence they are researching mixing now. Some doctors even think that will be beneficial.

Not saying I will just refuse. But I will ask my doctor first before I get called in 3 weeks or so.

I'm on the fence about getting my second Astra Zenica jab. My arm is still tender ten weeks on and this clotting risk makes me wonder if another shot will trigger a worse reaction.
Best bet is to Speak to your doc about your concerns as it might be something else
I was rough for a few days after my 1st vaccine but will defiantly have my second
Hope you soon fully ok

Lots more people get & die from blood clots after catching Covid 19 than they do from having the vaccine
No vaccine or medicine is without side effects.
4 people in 1 million might get a blood clot from the vaccine , While 10s of thousands have died from Covid in the UK
Am glad Van Tam & his colleagues are on the ball & keep monitoring progress

All this is extremely logical but I'd be very surprised if it didn't spook a few people. For the huge majority of people who do not feel any fear / threat from Covid they will weigh up as to whether they want to take any risk of the vaccine vs perceived zero risk from Covid.

I'd happily take the AZ vaccine and am 39 with absolutely zero fear of covid having had it myself but not everyone will think like that it has to be accepted.

Hardly millions have had it with no problems, and will have the second one.
Me included but I d o think this will seriously damage what could have been a global life saver. It has been handled pretty badly too as a PR exercise.

Most people who understand the facts will have it. But if you do not think plenty will choose not to have it then I fear you misread the harm this will do to confidence.

The doctors go on about benefit risk balance. I get that and will make an informed decision.

But plenty will say - I will wait for the ones where that risk is not even a factor.

Even though it may be and we will find that out in due course.

But its like saying will you risk flying in this thunderstorm as the odds of your plane crashing is very very low.

Or wait for the one tomorrow when the forecast is sunny and calm.

You do not need to watch Air Crash Investigations to know some will err on the side of caution - especially knowing millions of doses of multiple makes of vaccine are coming in the next months.

People slaughtered other countries in Europe for expressing similar concerns a few weeks ago
Not giving it to anyone, as it doesn’t work, then giving to the over 65’s only, then to the over 55’s isn’t really the same as advising the low risk of Covid under 30’s to have a different one.

Very sensible.
