ENGLAND HOSPITAL DATA
Unfortuntately the hospital data over the weekend is as expected still a problem for the North West. But unsurprisingly so and it could be a lot worse.
Admissions over the three days to Saturday were 184 - 206 - 223 VERSUS 202 - 175 - 178 the week before Not wildly dissimilar numbers but rising day by day not falling as a week ago.
NW admissions were the highest each day 57 - 61 - 65 VERSUS 68 - 55 - 53 the week before. Again not wildly different but rising not falling.
Yorkshire was close to topping NW and may do so soon as in that latest number had 56 admissions v NW 65 amd that is double where Yorkshire were last week (28)
London and Midlands next biggest contributers but have stayed steady in the mid 30s/40s and not risen as much as Yorkshire,
But these are still modest numbers - just more of them as multuple regions now starting to add in.
Total patients in England FELL Friday to Saturday 1284 to 1276 - then rose to 1331 yesterday and up to 1465 today.
That compares with seven days ago of Friday to Saturday 1170 to 1143 - then rising to 1168 and 1290.
So week to week the Monday rise was 122 last week and is 134 today - not a very big jump up in the circumstances.
The weekly increase in England patients is 175 - which is only about 14% up wk to wk.
The previous week the increase was from 993 to 1290 - a rise of 297 and a much higher % rise too.
NW patients over the weekend rose 429 - 442 - 466 - 498 - up 69.
Last week they went 411 - 384 - 412 - 426
So they are 72 up today wk to wk - around 18% up week to week.
London is actually down week to week 303 to 302, East up 67 to 82, Midlands 205 to 229, Yorkshire 175 to 217, South East 60 to 67 and South West 44 to 70 - the biggest weekly % rise.
On ventilators the story is much the same: Going over the weekend 238 - 236 - 244 - 272 - up 34 on wk around 15% The most of that rise actually came today (28)
Last wk these numbers went 210 - 203 - 196 - 212 - a much better performance.
Of these rises unfortunately again the NW is the big reason going 87 - 89 - 95 - 101 - the first region back over 100 in many weeks.
These sadly will lead to more deaths in the NW in weeks to come.
Other ventilator numbers over the weekend are:-
East 10 - 10 - 11 - 12, London 62 - 59 - 53 - 66, Midlands 40 - 38 - 41 - 45, Yorkshire 26 - 25 - 24 - 29, South East 5 - 8 - 10 - 12 and South West 8 - 7 - 10 - 7
I will leave this up to others to analyse better than I can.
But whilst it is not good - especially for the NW - it is not yet what you would consider a major problem.
