Ha, not quite, not really their bag tbh.

I wouldn’t class them as anti-vaxxers, just lack of education and knowledge. Fit guys who just fancy their chances and are selfish cûnts.

Whats’s selfish about it? Even if you’ve been vaccinated you can still spread it, hence why the vaxxed and non vaxxed still have to isolate when necessary.

I’m in the same age group as you’ve been discussing, and I haven’t had the jab yet. It’s not because of any conspiracy or anything, just for the fact that I don’t think it is necessary for people like me.

I exercise a ridiculous amount, eat healthy, + the statistics for my age group, all points to that my body is more than capable of dealing with the virus as there is a >0.001% of dying.

If I was in one of the older generations or came under the vulnerable group, it would be a different story. But I genuinely just feel like it’s pointless for me.

Is that not a fair reason? Let’s keep it civil and not get into an argument.

A greater than 0.001% chance? So is it 0.1%, 2% or 99%?

> means greater than, not less than.

Also, where are your figures and source for this 0.001% as that is 1 in 100,000. Which isn’t correct.

This shows Spain (similar country in terms of healthcare) has a CFR of 0.2%. ie 2 deaths per thousand cases for 20-29 year olds. This means it’s 200x more lethal for your age group than you think it is, even if it’s still a lowish number. But put it this way, I offer you a bag of 500 sweets, 499 of them are lovely, one has Cyanide in it. You still want to try a sweet?

There is nothing pointless about getting vaccinated in any case. It will potentially break a vital link that causes infection between you and someone else.

This virus has never been dangerous because of it's effect on you individually, it's dangerous because of its effect on everyone else around you.

Please consider getting vaccinated, you may well not need saving but someone else might need saving from you. If not that then consider getting vaccinated just so that we can exit this whole thing because that's what we are relying upon.

Vaccines reduce the risk of you contracting the virus and severely limit the risk of you infecting others. It’s not 100% effective, but is nigh on 90%.

The less chances the virus has of spreading, means we keep the numbers as low as possible to minimise the risk of vulnerable people getting it and dying as well as limiting the virus’ ability to mutate repeatedly.

If I was exercising every day and valued my health, I'd make sure I got vaccinated. The only way out of this is population immunity so I don't understand why you could possibly think you are better off risking infection.

Isn’t the vast majority of vulnerable/elderly already vaccinated though? Which is why we are seeing a high number of cases again but such little deaths?

Surely the perfect scenario is people catching it but hospitalisations/deaths remaining low in order for herd immunity?

Again not trying to cause a massive argument here, I appreciate people can’t help themselves but I am genuinely trying to understand both sides.

No, the perfect scenario is 100% vaccinated. Every person that catches it who isn’t vaccinated is a potential Petri dish for a new variant.

Not sure about where you are but our re opening plans are based on the number of people that are vaccinated.
Anybody that hasn't been vaccinated is dragging out the restrictions and are going to eventually benefit from everybody else's efforts, sacrifices and thoughtfulness.

You are 100% sure that there will not turn out to be any negative side effects in years to come? Hire long did it take for Pandremix to be classed as harmful?
You can never be 100% about anything but what’s unarguable is that this current level of cases would be killing hundreds a day without the vaccine like it did the last two times.
