My youngster is on day 7 of a 10 day isolation tomorrow.

Given its July 19th does she have to finish the 10 days?

Yeh, the isolation rules for identified contacts doesn’t end until the 16th or so of August.

Although if it was an app isolation I message I’d probably pack it in assuming you can do a LFT on them.

Masks don’t work. They are theatre. All this time wasted debating continuing to wear them or not.

Bollox. Even cloth masks prevent the generation of aerosols. Depending on the quality 40% to 80% prevent the wearer infecting others. 20% to 70% prevent the wearer catching it.

With the so called "Freedom day" starting tomorrow how are we all feeling about it?

I can't help having mixed feelings that while I feel the need to get back to normal it just feels wrong to do so with the increasing cases.

Struggling to understand how we are opening up while at the same time warning about future lockdowns, schools isolating and hospitals struggling.

I will carry on being cautious still too many idiots about. Avoid large groups, wearing mask inside public spaces and associate only with trusted individuals. I will wait a couple of weeks before assessing if it's safe to be more relaxed.

Yes, given some can't have it for medical reasons I'm astonished take-up is already as high as 88% (and presume anyone getting first jab will get the second), as we were definitely talking about 70-75 % take-up earlier. Didn't that thing that calculated your place in the vaccine queue work on a 75% take-up ?
