I’m convinced cotton masks are 99% psychological.

Oh I agree with this. There was a scientist guy on TV yesterday and he was asked if he would still wear a mask from the 19th (I think on Andrew Marr's show). He said he would in crowded places, not so much to protect himself, but to protect people around him from him.

He went on to add that a basic mask did protect the other people - well it protected them 20% more than not wearing a mask! I was shocked at how low that figure is. I bet if this was widely known, if this had been widely known, masks would have been binned months ago. But as you say, wearing one and seeing other people wearing them, makes us feel better, so it is mainly psychological.

Is that with Chris and Patrick?

PM to hold press conference via video link

The prime minister will hold a Downing Street press conference via video link at 17:00 BST.
Boris Johnson will not be there in person because he is self-isolating after being in contact with the health secretary, who has tested positive for coronavirus.
The PM will be joined by Deputy Chief Medical Officer, Professor Jonathan Van Tam and Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance.

it was professor lockdown - ferguson

Stopped in the East Markham McDonalds for my daily 99p black coffee. Quite a shock to not have the lady enforcing sanitation, sign-in and face masks. That said, everyone seemed to be wearing masks while ordering and moving, which was pleasing to see. Tesco felt exactly the same too.

I'm heading across to Liverpool to visit loads of pubs so be interesting to see what the Scouse are doing with their "freedom".
