Crazy amount of schools off and people isolating that I know off down here in Kent at the moment.

Same here in North London. I think, certainly with our local school, that there is an element of schools taking disproportionate action. There was school sports day on Friday a couple of weeks ago. All activities were outside. One kid tested positive on the following Sunday so all 240 kids had to isolate for the following 10 days. A bit OTT, in my opinion.

Not sure how they can hold the government or Boris to account? They’ve only had one chance to do so in the general election and the next one is not for another three years.

The 2019 election was a no brainer to the general public, Brexit was still up in the air and they were the party who promised to get it done, the alternative was also Corbyn.

Boris and this government are done thanks to the shitshow that has been their pathetic handling of this pandemic, if there was an election next week they would be out and Starmer would be in by default. My fear is that three years is a long time and all of this could potentially be “forgotten” which would be a tradegy.

I wouldn’t underestimate the feeling of the general public away from forums like this or the echo chambers on social media, there are a lot of unhappy people with Boris and co who have supported them previously.
You think starmer would win an election? Dear god

I don't know if it's due to Covid but my Dad has now been in A&E for over 10 hours, they've just asked me to get a copy of his medication whilst they put a cast on his wrist. He's 88, confused and in a lot of pain, I'm not complaining, the Staff have been very understanding but it's turgid in the extreme.

This if true, and I suspect' it is, is just horrible feel so sorry so these people in poor countries like Indonesia and India.

India's pandemic death toll could be in the millions

India's excess deaths during the pandemic could be a staggering 10 times the official COVID-19 toll, likely making it modern India's worst human tragedy, according to the most comprehensive research yet on the ravages of the virus in the South Asian country.

Most experts believe India's official toll of more than 414,000 dead is a vast undercount
