Just an update to my posts last night @artfuldodger @twosips @paulchapo @staffsblue - got a call back from GP surgery this afternoon… and basically it had them flummoxed, and she agreed 3 months was a long time to have a painful arm. It was as if I was the first person to ever mention it to them - she said she’d do some research on it and speak to me again on Wednesday of next week. Only suggestion in the meantime was to rub some ibrogel into the arm - as a topical anti inflammatory she thought it might ‘kickstart’ some kind of a healing process in the area. I’ll certainly give it a go …

Interesting. I might give that a go if my arm carries on stinging still. Good luck mate.

You may be the first person to mention it to them, but that means nothing at the moment. I haven’t rang my GP, basically because no one answers the phone. And if they did, I have no confidence anything would happen. My teenage son damaged his knee badly last September. A scan at A&E showed ligament damage and he was referred for physio. His treatment? A sheet of exercises emailed once a month from a physiotherapist. No face to face available. I have no faith they’d do anything for a 57 year old with a knackered arm.

Likewise pal
My wife and I have had both doses of AZ since since May. Apart from a slight twinge in my upper arm for an hour or so after my first shot I had no reaction but she has had an extremely sore arm after each (one shot in both arms).

The first arm is only recently problem free but she’s still getting a lot of pain in the other arm but it is easing slightly.

Ok, thanks for that input pal - sounds positive that it has easier for her - I had hoped for similar for mine after what is 4 months now. Fingers crossed.

Here is a similar past month table for the NORTH WEST.

I have to use last night not today as we don't have today yet - though the deaths ARE today.

You can see a similar track to Scotland - just a week or two later but clearly NOT just last week as when we saw other England regions drop last week.

Positivity is from the only data you can get out of Gov UK - a weekly average. And this weeks will as usual be 5 days late!

But you can still see from the trend of the other data the turnaround and plateauing is not just in the past week here.

It started before the rest of England had the sudden drop last week.

DATE V CASES V POSITIVITY V PATIENTS V VENTILATED V DEATHS

1 JUL // 5033 C // 9.1 % // 498 P // 91 V // 9 D

8 JUL // 6487 C // 10 % // 596 P // 116 V // 10 D

15 JUL // 7256 C // 12.4 % // 788 P // 123 V // 9 D

22 JUL // 5600 C // 12.5% // 835 P // 126 V // 10 D

28 JUL // 2999 C // ???// 872 P // 124 V // 16 D

A good journalist would be asking the question about why England ignores the positivity number.

But then journalists and positivity are not exactly closely acquainted.

I saw an interview with an editor/journo a while back that stated in no uncertain terms that papers that have negative headlines etc sell more copies. so all papers bias to the negative just to sell more papers.

the same way Horror films are popular. the scary is "attractive"
